i suggest you to go to spain, little town salou,i have spend 5 months there and it is just such a beautiful place!you are going to have lost of fun tehre,if you decide to go. salou history: Salauris, as the Romans originally called it, has a great deal of history behind it. After the Romana and the Saracens, Salou was considered part of the Tarragona religious heritage. King James I was the first to sing the praises of its excelent port and decided to bring his entired fleet here. He disembarket from the Port of Salou to conquer Majorca an 6 September 1229. The inhabitants of Salou have always commemorated this event and that's why the main promenade is named after hin.But pirates and privateeres didn't take long to discover this port as well and they turned it into one of the principal sites of their looting. As a result, the area became less inhabited and in 1530 the Archbishop of Tarragona, Pere Cardona ordered that a defense tower, now called Torre Vella or Old tower be build. In 1766 the Santa Maria del Mar Church was consecrated and shortly thereafter the road from Reus to Salou was build. In 1858 the lighthouse on Cape Salou was inagurated. Beach huts were authorized 1863 and in 1865 the train station began operating. The well known Reus-Salou Carrilet local train was inagurated in 1887 and brought the first summer tourist to the town. From the early 20th. century to the 1960's Salou grew sharply as a resul of turism, making Salou what it is today a beatiful and cosmopolitan summer town. The beaches of Salou are without doubt the resort's main attraction. The fine, golden sand, the clear, shallow waters, the sheer beauty have captivated and are still captivating, persons from far and wide. The Salou coastline is varied. Wide expanses of golden sand blend in with beachfront hotels and residences, while other, more intimate beaches are sheltered by pine trees and pretty inlets and coves. The vegetation of Salou is typically Mediterranean. The climate is characterized by mild temperatures throughout the year with moderate heat or cold, depending on the time of the year. There is a wide variety of plant life around the town. Salou has always taken an interest in protecting its native species, while transplanting others that fit in with the local environment. For example, in the Cape of Salou area we find the plants and flowers native to the area, while the gardens and other areas in which man has had a hand, the display of trees and plants is considerably more varied. One such area is the Jaume I Promenade where the variety of flowers and colours and the impressive palm trees have made it into the emblem of the resort. In Salou, the area around Murillo and Carles Buigas Streets is known as the Slammers, because of its multitude of lively music bars popular with the youngest visitors. In La Pineda they can be found around the area called "Pineda Drink" and in Cambrils are scattered all around town. But there are pubs and Music Bars catering for all types of people and all tastes, giving everybody, whatever their age, the chance to spend some unforgettable nights in The Golden Coast (Costa Daurada). last year, we went to Boracay, and it's really not expensive if you know how to budget your money well. there are pretty nice cottages that don't cost a lot. [toonatoons]

I will recommend beaches in boracay. You can get a package that is reasonable and matches your type of experience that you may want to get from your summer vacation. [netcamp]

hello, i know a great place that is less expensive to go through just far north from manila the capital city of the philippines, i do wanna share because my relatives and i went there last february and it is so nice and fun...a long white beaches and palm trees on the shore.. its called Pagudpud Beach way to the tip of the Philippines, they have romantic ambience and also very relaxing, and nice restaurant to, any type of foods to fruits...but the thing in here is that theree is no much night life, just purely relaxing and sunbathing and eating which is COOL. thats from Manila it will take 10 hours to go there taking any bus going to Laoag then Laoag to Pagudpud beach..but if you know someone(relatives of yours) to get in touch i will suggest you take a private car.Laoag is a very beatiful place also with its delicacies and others, then Vigan would be pass by if you go to Laoag which is a world heritage place a spanish architure would be seen here and nice.. Thats Manila - La Union where i lived (6 hours) then 3 hours going to Vigan(if you visit) -then Laoag which is (3 hours ) then Pagudpud that would be 2 hours) then theres nice accommodations also there. Now if you want night life with white beaches,go to Boracay its really nice buti think thats depend on your budget though....BUT REALLY NICE! taking a plane to go there. There is a falls way to the north its called Pagsanjan Falls (pangasinan)thats around 5 hours ride from Manila. If you want a hots spring also there is one in Pangasinan. And in Baguio thats 5 hours from manila (SUMMER CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES)its called ASIN hotspring. Now if you interested to know more just email me and i can give you some advises and nice pictures to look through. I can be your tour guide for FREE if you want it. email address: floresca091985@yahoo.com [nheil472]

Well, since you've mentioned Philippines.. Why don't you try Boracay? I know it's a bit crowded there since it's summer time or you could try to go to Palawan.. I can suggest some beaches here in Cebu, like Shangrila, Plantation Bay, Pulchra Resort, or you could also go to Panglao in Bohol.. I'm not quite familiar with the beaches down south but what I've mentioned are really great resort where you could really have fun.. I've seen also in a news that in Manila, there's a new sort of like an amusement park but it's full of pools.. :) [maucute]

You could go to Sumilon island in Cebu. It is not expensive to go there compared to some resorts. It is also more peaceful and much less crowded there. [cdparazo]

hi! You can visit Malapascua Island in Cebu. It's not expensive. There are cheap cottages there and of course you can go to expensive resorts too there. It's really your choice and how much money you got. [lei_lan]

Hey my friend I would suggest to come and visit our beautiful island of Bohol. Our place has a lot to offer.I will guarantee that you'll not regrets spending your vacation in our place. We have lots of beautiful white beaches which are very affordable that's why Bohol is one of the top tourist destination in the Philippines. [romel_ece]

this will depend on your present location. fares usually consume most of the budget. if you are in manila, the nearest beaches would be somewhere in north and south of luzon. for the northern part, they have beaches in subic, olongapo; most parts of pangasinan, la union and ilocos. for southern luzon, batangas offers a wide range of beaches. there are also those in mindoro, calapan & puerto galera. since summer is the peak season for beaches, it is quite expensive in most places. you have to really scout for the lowest possible rate. if your not choosy, i know that you'll find good accomodation without really sacrificing the quality of your stay. enjoy. [gwenmari1029]

Ok, why don't you try to visit Bohol, this place is fascinating, the best and most affordable spot in the Philippines ...the people are very accomodating and friendly too. I am from South Luzon, but I will recommend this place for you, you can chose Bohol Tropics, Bohol Beach Club or you can go to Panglao island, you can visit any travel agencies for tour packages. I usually go there whenever I want to relax myself and of course family bonding... [katzkii]

you know what, is best if you know a travel agent, they can really give you a lot of choices and give you budget wise travel packages...we have boracay, bohol, palawax, camiguin if you like beaches..even luzon have nice beaches they said, like in batangas..or go to tagaytag and baguio for a diff nature tripping.. [daryljane]

Try going to Antulang Beach in Negros, Panglao Island in Bohol, Dakak, CAmiguin and Siquijor. Nice white sand beaches... [ladymoonstone143]

Well I am not from the Philippines, but you may want to consider Thailand or Taiwan because many of my friends said those were beautiful places to travel. They are relatively close to your country, but just far enough to make it for an exciting vacation. As for cities within the Philippines I am not sure because I have never been to your country. However, you seem to be getting lots of good suggestions. I would recommend going to Thailand or Taiwan. Have a nice day. Pablo [callarse1]
