I've heard so many great things about Australia. My friends who have been can't stop raving about it. I read a lot about it and find it a very alluring place to visit.
It seems that all Australian women are just gorgeous e.g. Nicole Kidman. You know, one of my friends said that the ratio of women to men is 7 to 1. Meaning 7 women to 1 man. Does anyone know if this is true? I even hear it's normal for women to pick up on men in the bars. Does anyone know if this is true?
If it is, I'm there tomorrow!!!

LOL well I don't know about there being more women than men but I have always wanted to go to Australia. I know from Gather.com I am friends with two single very good looking Aussie men who are looking for someone. I am not looking I am 58 and happily Married. I think it would be great to go to Australia and have been invited if I do go to visit Bluey, Johnny and Best of all Single and goodlooking David Hudson who is Yanni's Digeridoo player and an artist. My problem is I have no financial ability to go and probably never will unless I win the lottery or Publishers clearing house which neither seems very likely. I would like to spend six weeks there at least and visit places. I hear though Australia has some of the most dangerous and posionous animals in the world. Spiders being one of them and that makes me shudder. Still I would like to go for a visit. Maybe before I get to old to enjoy it. [Celanith]
Hmmm, let me see....the risk to reward ratio.....on one hand dangerous and poisonous animals, on the other hand, hot and desperate women...hmmm. Tough scale to balance, but, I'll take my chances. The hot and desperate definitely outweigh the dangerous and poisonous....LOL...ha ha ha!!!! Hope you win that lottery and eventually make it down under. [petebaja]
I do not know where you heard about that. But actually, the sex ratio in Australia like following: At birth: 1.05 male(s)/female Under 15 years: 1.05 male(s)/female 15-64 years: 1.02 male(s)/female 65 years and over: 0.79 male(s)/female Total population: 0.99 male(s)/female But there are so many males that are natural gay. So if you come here, I wish you have a good luck!:-) [cydzzj]
I am not sure what you said is true or false. I just living in Australia for a short time. So I do not know about that yet. But some of my friends still feel hard to find a good girl friend here. [cydzzj]
also Alberta Canada..Banff? well ten to one in favor on the men and it will be all good if you play your cards right.. but Tokyo is good too and Manila is most excellant don't forget Bangcock or Saigon..any city will work if you have your wits about you..just be civil and tell the truth..and don't brag too much and talk your way out of a connection..know when to close the deal..enough said [asawako48162]

Well, I guess I'll see you there. It is definitely in my plans to see Australia by next year. What part of Australia is your girlfriend in? I'm assuming you're visiting that part, right? Do you plan on seeing the rest of the country? I myself am planning to see Sydney and Perth. Tell your girlfriend to recommend other places she knows of. [petebaja]
i have been to australia. great place. there is everything there. all the climate are there be it tropical, desert, snow. i think all european that got australia as a country is (as they say it) 'bloody' lucky. good new prime minister as he has apologized for the crime that has been done by previous government towards australian native people. I think the previous prime minister is arrogant, he doesnt care much about australian neighbouring asian countries and people.. [salam1]
I have heard lots of stories about Australia from my cousins who live there. Always have wanted to visit this place. [Swaana]
Australia is my dreaming land. I have long heard of the distinctive flora and fauna there and unique animals, such as platypus, kangaroo, koala and wombat. And what'smore I am greatly impressed by its multiculturalism. A country of immigration and charm and misteries. May one day i can go there to experience the unique culture.I [May2008]
i have never been to Australia but i really wanted to go there to see if what they are saying is true. is it really beautiful? how i wish i could go there! [yayang0405]
I have been to Australia twice because there is so much to see. The wildlife is unique like the kangaroos, koalas and emus. The landscape varies to gorgeous beaches to the red outback. The people are friendly and honest. Most of all I loved the amazing city of Sydney with its stunning looking harbor, Kangaroo island with its wildlife watching opportunities and the Great Barrier Reef full of colorful coral and friendly fish. I hope that you go to Australia one day soon. happy [maximax8]

Don't know about your ratio, Petebaja, but there do seem to be a lot more of us women than there are men - or single ones anyway - and yes, some of us do buy men drinks, 'though I'm not brave enough to ask one out. It IS a beautiful, scenic country. I love camping and there is no shortage of beautiful rivers and beaches. If you do ever visit, make sure you see New South Wales (not just Sydney), Queensland and the Northern Territory. There are some amazing places to go but you'll need several weeks to do it in.
