Back From Vacation: It Went Way Too Fast!

Well I am back from being somewhat isolated in Northern Minnesota for a couple of days with my family. We had a very wonderful time! The only real problem was that it went so fast it seemed like I hardly got there and we were packing up to come home! We did some shopping, and some fishing, feeding the gulls and eating alot of really good food. Does it seem like the days on your vacation go so much faster then regular days?

Hi Jill, I am really pleased to hear that you had such a wonderful time, but yes the FUN days always go faster than the rountine ones I agree. It is almost as if time speeds up when your'e having fun, but the clock stands still on the mundane routine days in life. Ellie:D [ellie333]
It truly does! [jillhill]

Hello Jill! Welcome back Dear and so nice to hear that you had such a lovely time there with your family..oh yes it goes much too fast, but since I am a permanent 'vacation' LOL..eh nobody home hehheheh, I am having a grand time sitting on a rock out to sea, even amidst the Hurricane Hannah...with Ike chasing right behind her! xoxoxox Love and blessings to you dear friend. Thanks sweetie~! Hang on to your hat! I have been watching a little of the progress! [jillhill]

Glad that you had a good time with your family on your vacation. As the saying goes "Time flies when you are having fun" sure does have a lot of meaning to it. When I go to visit my daughter I am usually gone for 2 weeks and that seems like the fastest 2 weeks of my life, especially that last week. It does sound like you made the most of what time you did have and had a lot of fun. [tyc415]
We did have a wonderful time! And you are right.....the last few days goes even faster! [jillhill]

hi jill! happy welcome back! i'm sure you had a good time! time really flies by so fast when you're having fun. i've proven that a lot of times! when you're enjoying so much, you wouldn't notice the time and you'll just be surprised that the fun things have to end already. some good things really never last. but i'm happy for you that you had a lot of fun. it's really good to take vacations once in a while. welcome back again. happy [secretbear]
Thanks for the welcome back. [jillhill]

Hey Jill! Your vacation sounds heavenly. The shopping, the fishing, the eating, I love it! Yes, it definitely appears that vacation days pass much more quickly than "work days". That's because they are filled with fun, I think. Glad you are back, but sorry your vacation could not be longer! Take care. [PearlGrace]
Yes....but if they were longer then would we get sick of them? NOT! LOL.... [jillhill]

Welcome back. Glad you had a good time. Well, the last time I visited my daughter in Arizona, the days seemed very long. Been awhile since I was around a 3 yr. old who loves to tease his baby sister. I slept on the couch so with a bad back, that wasn't a real exciting experience..lol I loved seeing the kids but 8 days was a little much. I spent so much time trying to keep him from half killing the baby. Then I felt bad. He's full of energy and gets bored easily. They will be here at Thanksgiving and I am really looking forward to their visit. He is much better when he's around family and not in his house. I will be with them as much as possible but will be able to sleep in my own bed. When I was younger the vacation days we spent in Florida or California did fly by. One summer we went to Maui and it sure felt like we just got there, swam in the ocean and had so much fun but before I knew it, it was time to return home. [carolbee]
Yes I know what you mean....part of why it went fast for me was my little granddaughter....she doesn't slow down for a minute! I bet when they come home at Thanksgiving it will be better....to sleep in your own bed means alot! [jillhill]

Yes they do go way to fast. I really enjoy going up to my Mom's for my vac. a small town good cooking going on. up late talking and laughing the next thing ou know it's time to leave to come back home to work. Ick lol. I fish on the way home so I leave a little early. Drive for awhile and then fish then hit 94 and drive the rest of the way home. Try to take it slow and enjoy the ride home. [onlydia]
Yes I know I hate rushing all the time. It's make your life way to short. I stay relaxed that way. And makes for way enjoyable trip. Have a nice day. Onlydia [onlydia]

I glad to hear that you had a nice time with your family. It all sounds like nice memories. Vacation days seem to absolutely fly by for me. I love to soak in every minute of them as best I can. [makingpots]
Wish you could harness them and hold on for just a bit longer! LOL [jillhill]

Welcome back. I am glad that you had a good time on your vacation and got to spend time with your family. Yes, it does feel like vacation days go much faster than regular days. [my2boys]

Yes vacations seem to go really really fast and we end up feeling like we really didn't have a vacation or it was too short and we need more time. I recently went to the Caribbean on vacation and as much as my husband and I had fun it went really quick and the week after at work made it seem like it had been forever since we went away. Enjoy the time while your away and try not to think about how fast it goes...Look forward to the next one and that sometimes helps get you through the working days. [teetee195]
THat's a good way to look at it..my next one will be in the spring and I will be going out to New York.....I've always wanted to see the East coast! [jillhill]

I have only been on one vacation in my life and it was YEARS ago but as i remember it did fly by! [cjgrooms]
It just went way too fast! [jillhill]

hi jill, I'm so happy you had a good vacation with your family. I think that is one of the best vacations, with family. But you are oh so right! Time does fly when you are having fun. The mundane days drag by, and the fun days fly by. That must be why we always feel like we need another vacation so soon after having had a vacation. LOL I am always looking for a vacation. With family is nice, in a new place is good too. Just remember to enjoy your vacation, no matter how fast time flies by. Have a nice day my friend.. [crazy_ol_lady]
And it's a good thing we have such good cameras to capture those moments to make them last a lifetime! Hope you are having a great day too! [jillhill]
