Do You Take The Free Stuff When You Stay At A Hotel

When you are ready to check out at a hotel, do you take the complimentary items, such as shampoo, conditioner, shower caps, pens, pads, coffee, sugar, creamer, etc.? I, of course, would never take towels, or anything like that - but I do take any of the complimentary items that they supplied for me to use during my stay. My husband is getting used to it now, but at first he thought it was weird of me to take home what I did not use while I was there. I've never thought anything about it. I figure that I paid for it, and they put it there for me to use anyway. So, I just want to know how many other people do the same thing.

Well I have not been in a motel or hotel in a long time. But if it did arise I would and I feel the same way you do. I paid for it why not? I mean hotels are not cheap and they throw out all that stuff if you leave it anyway. Like you said I do not take any towels or anything but soap, pens, and paper yes I take it! Nice discussion and happy mylotting to you. happy [momtrying2makeit]
I just assumed if it was not opened that they left it for the next person. But heck, if they are throwing it away that would be such a waste! I am glad that you feel the same way I do. Thanks for your response! [Toofancy]

If the soap and handcreams are nice, I take them. I would never take towels or anything like that, because they do an inventory of what's in the room and if you steal things you shouldn't they will charge it to your credit card. The other things are complimentary - creams, shampoos, lotions, so why not take them? Besides that, they are good for travelling. I collected a lot of those shower caps and a bunch of us laughed our heads off one nite by wearing em. [daneg33]
You are right. I would never steal anything. That is funny about the shower caps! I have quite a few saved up myself. [Toofancy]

Hi toofancy, I always take the soap and shampoo from the hotel room. Once it is used they are going to throw it all away anyway , I also take matches if they had them or a little writing tablet just as a little keep sake . [beachstarz]
Right! I forgot about the matches. I take those, too. Thanks for your response! [Toofancy]

I stayed in a motel for over a month. They charged me $60.00 for each night I stayed there. It was not worth it at all. I took all the towels that were in my room. I had a bag full of them. Nice big white fluffy towels. The cost of each towel was in my bill each day. [giftsandbagscom]
People who do NOT steal the towels have to pay for the people that do. [MsTickle]

I always take the complimentary things. they are useful to have in a swimming bag (the toiletries) and the coffee sachets and teabags, sugar sachets and so on are very useful to have a few handy in case you run out. the decaffinated ones are particularly useful to have around if it's not what you drink, in case a visitor does drink decaff. then you have some, not taking up too much space, and not open and going stale [Galena]
I keep the toiletries for emergencies at home when we run out of shampoo or conditioner. And I will always drink the coffee at home. I like regular and decaf so I will drink either one. Thanks for your response! [Toofancy]

I take the small things that they replace whether they were used or not. Hand soaps, shampoo, the little bottles of lotion.... At one hotel, they also had complimentary ear plus, eye masks and linen spray! Those were great, and you were able to take them so I did. [colaandtwinkies]
I stayed at a hotel that had ear plugs, eye masks and linen spray. I have all three of those items next to my bed. I have used the eye mask several times! Thanks for your response. [Toofancy]

Once the complimentary items are nice I take them. Some items make really good souveniers and others come in handy when I have to do short overnighters elsewhere. [tjades]
You are right. I have given away the pads and pens as souveniers to my kids before. Thanks for your response! [Toofancy]

we do as well. Besides if you don't use them don't they have to throw them away? or something silly like that? [3SnuggleBunnies]
I didn't know that they threw them away. I can see them throwing away the soap that was opened and left, but it is so wasteful for them to throw away anything that hasn't been opened. But, I can see where they probably would do that. It's a good thing I don't leave them anything to throw away! ha. Thanks for your response! [Toofancy]

Yeah, sometimes I do.. sometimes they have hand lotion too.. as well as shampoo and conditioner.. the way I see it is the same way.. even though it is free.. I more than paid for it when I paid their price at the hotel. When I was in college a few years back I had to go on trips to compete in speech competitions. We had to stay in hotels during our time. I'm so glad the school paid for it most of the time. [OreoCookie3]
Oh yeah, I forgot about the hand lotion. I have quite a bit of hand lotion, too. Thanks for your response! [Toofancy]

To be honest, I think the hotels expect it! My daughter had a teacher whose brother ran a hotel. She used to come in on Monday morning with her pockets bulging with presents for the kids - don't know what bro thought of it though! I've even been to a hotel where there was a message, "Please help yourself to anything you need," next to a big basket of bathroom goodies next to the checking out desk! Nobody ever did, though. Odd, that. [jazzsue58]
There's this urban myth that people refill the bottles with water or cold tea and put them back. It wouldn't make any difference. Those bottles are logged the moment you swipe one - whether you put it back or not. I found this out the hard way, when I was on a diet and the bar was stocked with chockie goodies as well as booze. Two or three times I was tempted enough to get as far as 'downloading' the Thorntons. Then, guilt - plus the fact they were £5 for a box of 6 truffles - made me shove them back, unopened. They still came up on my bill though. Took a bit of explaining, that did. [jazzsue58]

The last trip I went ,I did not take up anything though.. [fren45]

Yep, I do. Not so much the pad of paper, but I occassionnally take the pen. i will take the shampoo and conditioner. I stash them for those annoying instances when I don't realize that a beloved family member has just used the last bit of whatever in the entire house. glare I agree with you, these items are provided on a daily basis to us for staying in their hotel. So I will use them or stash them away on a daily basis for my stay. [uicbear]
I always take the pad as well as the pen. The pads come in handy on my desk. I make a lot of notes, and use a lot of scrap paper, so the pads are put to good use. [Toofancy]

Yes, I take them. Those little bottles fit nicely into our hurricane evacuation kits and some of the stuff hotels provide smells really nice! I think I was at a Hilton where the lotion had a citrus scent that I really loved and I tried finding it online but never could. This stuff is meant to be used...you're paying for it anyway...so why not take it home? I don't take the little coffee supplies because we usually use them up and, no, I never steal towels and washcloths because that truly is stealing. [spalladino]
I am the only coffee drinker, so there is always some left I can take home. But one time we paid $90 (each) for two robes from the Westin. They are really nice thick heavy white robes....but not sure they were worth $90! [Toofancy]

I don't often take stuff unless I really like it. I guess you are right though seeing as they are usually disposable items which they have provided for you to use during your stay. I will sometimes take things as souveniers if I feel that there is something special about them otherwise I don't bother as they will just collect dust when they get home anyway. [UK_Shree]

I take them mainly because they come as part of the fee for staying there. I believe that if they didn't put the items there to be used in the first place they wouldn't be taken. My wife thought the same thing about me. She feels that we should leave them there if we don't use them. I disagree and think that they should be taken. As for the towels if you take them, they will charge your credit card. Its the main reason they want a card number before you can get a room. I have never taken anything from the room. But, that is my belief. [gvannorman]

Lol, thanks for bringing up this topic, I'm going to have a great time readin all these responses! No, i don't take any, but i remember my mum used to take all those, i found it pretty weird ! Yes i had once taken note pad and a pen, but that was because I had something written on it, Really I had! [fiazio]

i used to work in a hotel and they definately did not throw out anything unless it had been used. i dont usually take the stuff unless we are staying in a really nice hotel and the stuff is lovely. we are going to a 5 star spa hotel in cancun in summer so i'd imagine ill be taking that stuff!! [shellsim26]

TooFancy, I sure do. If I didn't use I feel its mine, I did pay for it thats why its in the room and not at the service desk with a price tag on it.(LOL, this is how I view it). So if I see it and I didn't use it just beleive when I'm getting my things ready to check out its coming with me. happy [hardworkingmom]

LOL yea years ago when my family and I use to travel, sometimes we would take those little soaps and maybe a plastic cup or two hehe, but thats pretty much it, I think a lot of people do that sometimes, but we would never take towels ether.happylol [apples99]

I do take those things if I don't use them. They charge enough for the rooms and give them to you to use. [Thoroughrob]

I always take soaps shampoos, coffee creamer and anything else they put out as complimentary. i feel like I paid for it I might as well take it and us it later. i do not take towels or anything that i know is not for me to take. I always leave the Bible since i have a few i don't need another one. if we get free breakfast i will usually take extra stuff (boxes of cereal, extra cin rolls, bananas, juice. etc.) I just feel like I paid enough for a room I should take a few extras. [mssnow]

i do take complimentary items but it depends if the container or if the item is cute... i always take one as a souvenir from the hotel... depends as well if that is my first stay or not... if its my first stay then definitely i took an item... some hotels that i stayed in has a cute container of shampoo and cream... weird huh? but i agree that you pay for it so it should not be an issue if you to take it home or not.... [aquinoma05]

Heh, yeah I grab everything. I figure "why not?". One of the last things I do before I leave a room is quickly go around everywhere and snatch up anything which was complimentary. I figure that I paid for it. What's funny, is that a lot of the stuff I'll never ever use anyway. I still have several sealed packs of mini soap tucked away in my bathroom, and some milk containers in my fridge. [Downunder_dude]

For the most part, no. I leave it because it just clutters up my house when we bring it home because we never use it. The only thing, I really do take is the note pad and pen and stuff it in my purse because it always comes in handy, and it's perfect size for my purse. [Jae2619]

When I went to Vegas, they had nice complimentary items in the room. I most definitely took them when I left. They are there for you, so I think whether or not I use them while I am there or not, they were meant for me. I think women take things more so than men. I wouldn't take the towels or iron or anything like that. Although, I once used a towel from my room when I went to the pool and forgot to bring it back with me when I went back to the room. [sudalunts]

I typically take the stuff I know I will use. I definitely take the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash if we haven't used it all. I typically take the pen they provide too and throw it in my purse incase of emergencies. lol I love the hotels that have NICE shampoo and lotions - from bath and body works!! [Jennlk84]

I haven't stayed in a hotel in a long time but I remember getting shampoo and stuff when i was younger and stayed at some... i would always take whatever free stuff they had laying around lol and me being a kid of course would ask if there was anything else i could have lol and sometimes they would give me other little things. i don't see anything wrong with it... they will just throw it out if it's been open anyway... so why not take it? and any others that aren't? they give it to you! happy [sameroad]

My husband is against my taking back the free stuff, but as you do, i think i have paid for it. The sewing kit is most useful, it provides almost all i need in case of urgency. I admit there are quite some i just leave at home not used. And after some time, most of them can be used only for washing. With the recycling concept in practice, some hotels do not provide free stuff any more, unless asked for. For people who seldom go out on trips, they must be reminded of being careful about the beverages in the minibar, and the promoted shampoos with fancy advertising remarks. [zhuhuifen46]

I do the same with you,I thought that I paid,I have the right of use these complimentary items.they are my,because I pay the money. We paid,we enjoy. [bbeiwu]

Yes, I take those free stuffs. I would take those and I will give them to my mum later, as she will use it or she will give it to her friends. [HelloMickey]

Hello there Toofancy. I only took the bar soap for my collections. If some people like to collect matches from everywhere, well I'm collecting hotel bar soap happy. I put them in a big jar and they smell lovely. I didn't use the shampoo, I bring my own shampoo and my own bodywash. I only use the hotel shower gel to wash my hands. Other stuffs that I didn't use I won't opened them and I hope they can be used by the next customers. My house is quite small I don't want to fill it with the stuffs that I'm not gonna use. [HiLia2008]
I think it is admirable that you only take what yo,u know you will use and leave the rest for the next customer to use, so as not to be wasteful. I really do use everything I take, or I would probably give it to someone who would use it. I don't want to be wasteful either. Thanks for your reply! [Toofancy]

The word "free" seems to me to be a misnomer. You paid to be able to stay in that place, and these items happen to be included in the items you paid for, and it's true these were meant for you to use. It is not written anyway that you have to use them within the hotel, and only while you are checked-in, so you could still use them in other places and other times. I also take home with me the complimentary items in hotels or resorts. They're useful on short travels and also we offer them for use to house guests. [pmcepe]

Yes, at times.. i take home some complimentary items such as conditioner, shampoo and soap for souvenir purposes.. but i never use them at home.. i just want to get them for souvenir and collection purposes.. =) i would never ever take towels or bed sheets, yay! that's a shame! [gracie04]

I guess everybody does it. But no one will admit it cuz the hotel authorities are also here on myLot and they are looking for the people who have been taking their stuffs. Ok.. For now, I'm not one of them.. Hahaha.. [zahfran]

Heck yeah I do the same thing. We could always use soaps and shampoos, so why not? I stayed in a Best Western for a little more then a week in Ft. Dodge, IA, and I collected every bar of soap they gave me, and in order to deplete my stash, I just used them all before going out to buy a package of Ivory soap. Of course, nowadays, we can't get away with stealing towels and stuff like we did in the past, but the toiletries, and pens and pencils, fine. [jbl1975]

I use to stay in a medium lodge where they provide soap and newspaper for me.I always take both when I check out my room.I don't hesitate as I pay for that too in hidden cost.If I leave it ,then the room boys will be using it.So,I never leave a free thing offered in lodges.Cheers! [srganesh]

I have a few time to live in hotel, but just in such few times,I only can find something such as tea, toothbrush etc which is free. When I check out,I don't like to take something like that, because I think these thing is not worth for me to take away. [victory999]

Yes off course i do, any free stuff available in the hotel such as shampoo, soap, toothbrush, sandals, etc. We paid for the hotel and they provide it for us to use, so why not. [benifix]

Once. That too it was a bar of soap, as i had to go out in on a field trip for a couple of days. Otherwise do not ever tend to take out any of the free stuff from the hotels. [alokn99]

O definitely yes. Most of the times I bring a little memento from the hotel, and keep it in my collection. I don't take expensive stuffs, I just take the teas, coffees, slippers, gels, soaps, etc. Small items, well at least I consider them small items happy, cheers! [brady2moss]

I do. It's free right? And it is included in what we have paid for. [richiem]

sometimes i take the complimentary items home and use but not very often ,i think there is no point to consider much about this ,you need you take no need no take ,I chose I like [chuan258641xing]

When I was still in the work force I used to do quite a bit of travel and I always stayed at first class hotels. I cleaned out the freebies every day even if I did not use them so that there would be refills for the next day. At the end of my stay I always had a nice haul to take home with me. [whiteheather39]

I rarely stay in hotels and even more in the kind where you get so much free stuffed (free but included in the price of your room) so I tend to take part of it as those small bottles are useful when I travel. They are particularly useful for air travel when you can not take more than 100ml bottles. [overwings]

I don't because the only time my hubby and I stayed in a hotel, which was on our honeymoon almost six years ago. And where we stayed, there weren't any freebies. [cortney09]

Yes I do ..I think It is not free stuff, we pay for it also.We went to kerala on a tour two months ago.We stayed in a star hotel. The shampoo provided by them was very good. After using that i felt my hair was very soft and silky. Before i check out i took them .Not only that.If they are nice,i will take them. Why shouldn't we? We are paying for everything they provide at the hotel. But like you i have never took towels. [mymytri]

I dont stay in hotels often.I take what I've paid for or used as you do.lolI dont think its decent to take anything that you like in the hotel.blink [sweetyethot]

sure i do. not too many freebies come my way so why not take advantage of them. of course i don't get to stay in many hotels either. lol [ANTIQUELADY]
i've lost my touch, u are too young looking not to be having a good time, lol [ANTIQUELADY]

Yes. Actually you should do that because it is included in your bill. Even celebrities do that!!! hehe [carlo_martin_soria]

Yup, I would take the shampoo, body gel or lotion bottles, especially if they are cute or nice-looking. And if the complimentary coffee is nice, I would take that as well. Other items - I'm not so interested. lol [lazeebee]

I will also do the same with you. free goods do not have one taken. that we have rights, as the hotel provides a service to the guests. many people who collect the goods free hotel [indahfth]

I rarely stay in the hotels and I don't flick things for the simple reason that I wont be comfortable with those things every time I use them. They don't cost a fortune and I prefer to have my own exclusive things. [balasri]

If I don't use it during my stay, then I will not likely be using it at home either. The pens and paper that you find in the room are expected to be taken, that is why they have the name of the hotel emblazoned upon them. It is cheap advertising for the hotel. By taking them (and using it) you will either remember your stay and be inclined to want to repeat the experience (if it was a good one, at least) or others will see it and perhaps strike up a conversation with you about it and end up booking a stay for themselves. I am not really sure how effective this advertising is, but they really do expect you to take the pens and paper. As for the other amenities, I tend to use the shampoo and such while I am there, so there is not much to take home with me. I don't drink coffee and neither does my wife, so we have not even considered taking it with us as we just wouldn't have a use for it. You are right, though...the 'free' stuff is actually already accounted for in the price you paid for the room so if you are going to make use of it, you might as well get what you paid for. [thorgrym]

I only take the things that I have used - the shampoo and soaps. After all I wouldn't want those things recycled for me. However if I have used half of the bottles and certainly used the soaps I take them home. They do put it there for your use and I think many people do the same! [deejean06]

I used to be like your husband, then it occurred to me that they make great little basket items for house guests! I fille a basket with shampoo, minature soaps along with a nice bathcloth and lightly scented shower spray. I add in a new toothbrush and small toothpaste. They love it! [mysticmaggie]
That is a great idea! I have never thought of doing that. Thanks for your response! [Toofancy]

i take the complimentary bottled water because when traveling, we take bottled water when sight-seeing. i also take the soaps because i use them for washing hands. it also looks nice in the bathroom when we have guests in our home. i take the little shampoos and lotions because i travel a lot and instead of buying travel-sized toiletries, i use those provided in the hotel. it's already included in our hotel bill so there's nothing wrong with taking them. [pinaybigbucks]

If i get any complementary gift from hotels or from shopping mall's i will not refuse in taking it, because we get that because we pay them if not they will not issue any gift for free if we purchase any goods or we have any celebrations then only they pay us if not they will not pay us. so i will always show interest in taking them. [1rickyme]

well if its free, why not! wehehe [wraithhime]

i take the half empty bottles of shampoo and what not - why not? they will just throw them out anyways! i think that since i paid for it, i should keep it. [cher913]

I rarely stay at motel ,but when I do I do take the items they give for my use while there. [vprinn1955]

i usually grab everything i can, usually i am pissed at the country or for that matter the hotel im staying at, although i may be the initiator in most of these arguments between me and whomever, this is my revenge [Doffen]

I do take the soaps and creamers and coffees. I don't take their shampoos because I have a brand that I use and like. But like you I feel I paid for it and they put it their for me to use why not take them. I don't see anything wrong for that, like everyone I wouldn't take their towels. [misslovelyfiles]

Of course I do! Well, I leave the sewing kit and the shower cap since I don't use those things. And I usually use the coffee. But the rest of the things I take and leave in my travel bag. Then they're ready for when I travel again, and perhaps I'm staying in a hotel where those things aren't available. Or, for when I'm staying with family or friends and I don't want to use their supplies. [catdla1]
I do use the sewing kits and also the shower cap sometimes, so I would take those for myself. But I think it is good that you only take what you would use. By the way, I LOVE your picture!! It looks just like my baby, Tink. Thanks for your response! [Toofancy]

Hi, TooFancy! I have been staying in a motel for 2 months as of now. And Yes, if I leave I will take the items that you mentioned, except for the towels. I may even take the last bit of toilet paper too!lol I was just thinking about doing this when I leave this month.. Leave for good that is. It is not stealing, if you paid for it, then it is yours. I even take the complimentary items from my room in the hospital after I had my baby.. So, I will do it in the hotel. The wash cloths, towels, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and coffee maker all stays.. Plus the fridge and microwave. This all belongs to the motel as of now.. The rest of the personal items will go with, me, cream97!wink [cream97]

Only the good stuff :) I recently overnighted at the Hyatt and was told by a maid, the bathrobe was complimentary, of course I did not believe her for fear that I'd see a $600.00 charge on my credit card, :) but I did take 2 of their amazing fluffy poolside towels. [janene]

it isnt shame to take the free stuffs. we paid for them and we can use them in other place for convenience. for example, we can take the one-off slippers home and when someone visit your house. you can prepare it for them. [bagsworld]

Yeah, I take the tea and coffee packets, and if they have the raw sugar? I grab that stuff too, but so far, I've only seen it in Banff hotels. [candymarie]

I assume they will just throw them away if I don't take them. I also assume that i have paid for them. so, I take them. [getnbuy]

Yes. If it's free, then I'll take it. Especially since they most likely toss any of those items anyway (most definitely if they are opened), so why waste them? I've only stayed at a hotel once (that offered complimentary items), and I took all the shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower caps, etc that I could! Nothing that I shouldn't have. I wouldn't take the towels or anything like that either. That's just plain stealing! [goodnightmoon]

Hi Toofancy. I just got back from a 4 day vacation and we stayed at a hotel. I did use some of the free things that were there. I liked the hand lotion and hair shampoo/conditioner, it had a nice citrus scent to it. I took what I did not use home because they are just going to throw it out when you leave any how. I did not use the shower cap, sewing kit, pad or pen and left them there. However my husband used the shoe buffing mit and we took that also. We did use their coffee as it was quite good and we even asked for 2 coffee filter packs a day. I would never take the towels either although the robes that they had there for us were very tempting. They were fluffy terry cloth and comfortable, I used them going to and from the indoor pool. [jsitko]
That is the same kind of robe we had use of at the hotel. I egret not buying one to bring home. They are a lot of money but they are very cozy! Enjoy the one you bought. [jsitko]

Hey there! Yeah, I do take the free stuffs when I stay at a hotel. I always take bottled water and some condoms!lol Really, I do take condoms. Sometimes I also take with me pens, if there's any. I paid for it so why not take those that I didn't use? Have a nice day. Happy posting!! [AltheGreat2430]
I have never stayed at a hotel that supplied condoms, but that sounds like a reasonable free item to offer. Never thought about it. Thanks for your reply! [Toofancy]

Yes in deed. Don't they put that there for me to take? When we went to disney I took the soap each night with the little mickey mouse face on them and stuck them in my bag so they would give us more rofl. I should give those to my girls to play with. I keep forgetting that I even have them. [mflower2053]

No, i won't do that except the things which i must use. Actually i just want to be simple, so i always leave the hotel i live in only with some things that i must take with when i am on my travel. [xianshuixyz]

I am guilty of stealing the soaps, shampoos, lotions and coffee! I am like you I figure I have paid more than enough for the room and they are there for me to use. I always take my own toiletries with me when I travel and do not use the ones provided so when I leave they go in my travel bag. I then use them to make goody bags for people, everyone loves the idea of getting a little gift every now and then. [destanita]

Of course! What's free is for me! I have to admit though, I have taken a towel in the past. I just had to. I just hope no one ever takes the remote control to whatever room I will be checking into, the next time I go anywhere. [amylady2009]
LOL No remote would definitely ruin the hotel stay! Thanks for your response. [Toofancy]

all the times...especially the notepad and envelope..for the memory that i had stay there.. [fasyahime]

I am with you Toofancy; I would not walk out with a bathrobe or anything like that but shampoo, soaps, shower caps etc... they're mine! I think the hotels expect that sort of stuff to be used or taken. I would watch out for that mini bar though, take something out of there and it will cost a pretty penny! happy [paula27661]

hi :) haha actually it's not my "job" my mom is in-charge of it LOL lol am not into that kind of keeping or getting hotel's fres stuff but there's no bad about it- all of those are included on the services you've paid right? so nothing to bother and go just keep them and it's all yours ;)... if i have given a chance that i'll be alone why not in the future you can use those shower caps especially i always ran out of it haha... just kidding..rasp you've paid for them so that's ok-priveledge and all that :D thanks!:) happy myLotting! Godabless!0=) [myralmedo]

hi toofancy...yeah if there are some left behind..i guess its part of what we had pay for..except of course of the towels and the bedsheetslol..even in planes..if i dont like to eat yet what they had served surely i kept it ..but not the liquid thing of course.. [vanities]

Not always, it all depends on what it is. I did take the shower cap and cream the last time I stayed at a hotel...the other stuff I left since I really had no use for it at home. But I also take a complimentary envelope and writing paper as souvenier of my stay there. Not all hotels have the stuff in the room free, and sometimes you even ahve to pay for what is in the mini bar.blink [gtdonna]

Haha yeah I do if I want the stf. I don't like their soaps and shampoos though so I will usually just end up taking the coffee grains. I love to take extra food to my room in the complimentary breakfasts though and eat it later in the day or in the car driving a long time. [csrobins]

Somehow I am skeptical about the stuffs in hotels. I do not use them, not to mention take them. Besides, I am not sure if I will suddenly be charged if something is missing. No, I do not even use the free stuff provided, not to mention take. [whyaskq]

I do take the complimentary shampoos and conditioners, the lotions and the coffee or tea. I tend to leave the shower caps and pens and pads of paper. I dont use shower caps so i dont feel the need to take them. Honestly alot of the time i just use the hotel shampoo rather than taking it but if i havent i do. I wouldnt take the towels or robes or anything. I think some hotels stipulate in that paper you sign that they can bill your credit card after you leave if they find things like that missing...or major damage. [saundyl]

Usually, I would not take them. But some of my friends do. When I ask them why, they give me the same answer as you. Yes, you have paid for it, surely you should take it. Now it's my turn to answer the question, why not take it. In my opinion, the stuff we buy is what we want and need. If I don't need it, what should I deal with it after bring it home? Usually, the stuff like that has certain shelf-life. So it's not as good as leaving the stuff. It can be used for other people who need it, and that can save resources. [connieconstance]
I understand your point. And I agree, if you are going to let it waste, you should not take it. I always use what I take. It is never wasted. [Toofancy]

Yes ... when I am staying at a hotel I do take the soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower cap, hand lotion, shower gel and bath salts, coffee, creamer and sugar and notepads and pens. Sometimes I will ask the housekeeper if she has any extras and sometimes I do get them. I don't use these items myself, but rather pack them into my "soldiers" box for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. If you would like to donate a box here's the link: www.anysoldier.com [kittycatnut]
Thanks for giving me the BR!! -) Yes, I too donate the Samitaritans boxes at Christmas. I gather up all my freebies and put them in my boxes all year 'round. Here is a good site to get freebies ... www.freestufftimes.com [kittycatnut]

Yes , of course! These stuff included for the payment so i take them all.. including the tissue, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, shampoo, soap, pen and the likes. I keep them in my small drawer. I used them when when we go out of town or if we go for swimming. [gracypure]
