Gap Year, The Longest Vacation Ever . I Am Worried!!

I am nearly at the end of my long vacation now. I havent studied for 10 months, and I think I dont remember most of my high school stuff. I am going to university of Toronto this September to study Computer engineering (Hopefully if I get my visa ) . Now , whenever I try to open my books, I just cant seem to concentrate anymore. Its just that unlike the times in school where I would have friends with whom I would compete with, but now there is no competition, no inspiration to study. I am afraid , that if I continue to go on with such an attitude, I ll definately screw up my chance as a good student and it is a highly competitive university . Can anyone tell me what they did ,and have they ever gone through a gap year!! I need someone to slap some sense into me. And I also get distracted from many things such as anime, reading books (I am reading the hobbit), playing games, crafts , etc , I think I am suffering from Adhd.

Hi solemnsoul, I am sure that once you are back on campus you will get back in the swing of things. Breaks are just that...time to relax and chill! [richnai]
Ohh alright :D !! okay thanks .. Hahah, ohh that, I am really sleepy, so I was like why the heck did richnai post a slapping gif. Lmao !! [solemnsoul17]

OK I just slapped you tight *slap slap slap* LOL but seriously, I can understand how difficult it must be for you. As it is, most of us don't like the continuous routine of studies (at least I don't) and having to stick to it since kindergarten, it seems a huge relief when studies finally seem to be over. However, I believe this computer course you're about to undertake would be more for your immediate career prospects, so that would be an inspiration in itself. Also, new place, new people, new friends & foes…a new excitement awaits you so you'd better get out of that lazy position and be ready to face the world … look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that a new world beckons so you'd better hurry and get back to books [sudiptacallingu]
First, its alot of money where I am going :/ .. If I take crafts, I cant earn back the money my mom spend on me. The option why I took Computer engineering from that specific university, because I can work by the third year in co-op program. And it will be enough to pay back my mom for the two years. I just want to earn money asap, so I can give my mom a retirement and she could have a good nice vacation in Caribbeans or somewhere nice. In future maybe, I ll think of being an entrepreneur. Lets see how life will take its course. [solemnsoul17]

Hello Solemn!! Wow, your migrating that would be a very nice experience and very challenging. I know how you feel when you say about gap and all because I haven't been back to school myself. I totally forgot about the things I learned. I have low memory so it's going to be very hard for me. I wish you all the best and have fun there!!... [yresh12]
Hi solemn... I'm enough with the ptcs I have. Regarding article writing I just applied in our local forums they were looking for one. Then when they only employ regular employees for it. I can't balance my time from my offline work and doing my writing so I got terminated. Then I had another one and I tried transcribing which I'm not good at for now but still learning. I'm still looking for ways to have online jobs they say odesk would do but some don't hire newbies there which is like me because I don't have pretty much experience yet. [yresh12]
