has anybody here at Mylot been on a summer vacation yet during the summer? lol the only real thing that my family and i have done this summer is go to Beach Bend Park so far, and also we went to the country to visit with our friend's and go swimming. i am hoping to be able to do something else this summer as so do the boys. gatlinburg has alot of neat things to do and is not that far away from where that we live and we might just go to gatlinburg for the summer instead of going to the beach somewhere. which would also be loads of fun.
so tell me, have you-all had your summer vacation yet this summer?

Hello RLFinNash, No I hven't been away at all this year, but I will be going next summer, Im trying to save up. I live in the country, well sort of. its a little town but getting bigger each year. What I do is I sometimes go off into the forest near where I live and loose myself with nature,I don't like crowds so I don't mind not going any where. I hope you and the boy have lovely vacation. At the very beginning of summer break we went to Minnesota, a drive of about 650 miles one way. That is because my daughter and her family live there right now. I had not seen the grand baby in awhile. It was fun, I posted some pictures from a conservatory we visited. It was very near where Grandpa Bob lives. I would like to go again. We have also gone to Guthrie, Oklahoma, where my brother lives. We love doing that. It is just hubby and I so we are very easily entertained. Gatlinburg would be fun, too. [GardenGerty]

As you know I did part of it...one week in Arizona...one in Wisconsin. I still have one week left and that will be the first week of Sept when I go with my son and his family to Northern Minnesota to a resort for a week. We went to the same place last year and it's so beautiful! We had a great time. Even if the weather is bad we'll still have fun as there is so much to do up there! [jillhill]
My last vacation was back in May and that will be our only vacation of this year! We want to get our garden done which is going to cost an awful lot of money and also we are saving to go abroad next year. So we will just make do with some days out through the kids school holidays I reckon. Although right now I would love dearly to go away, somewhere that has beautiful sunny weather if that was poss, cos so far we are not doing so well for nice weather. [gemini_rose]
Yes, I've been on vacation this year already. Back in early June, I went on a camping trip with my parents and sister for a week at a state park. We stayed in a trailer, and the lake we were at was absolutely beautiful (though we had one evening where it was pouring like crazy- glad we had a trailer, and not a tent!). We went on several long walks, went swimming, and so on. I hope that you get a chance to do something else fun this summer. [stagewhisper]
we spent the last week of may in lanzarote in the hot sun, it was fantastic although hubby burnt on the first day there so turned into a hermet crab after that and hid in the apartment untill evening, got some lovely tan lines. [barbie84]
I don't know if I would consider it a vacation, but becaus my usband is an American and I am a Canadian, I spend half the year in Canada, and the other hal the year in the USA. I just got back rom a hal a year in Arizona. I love it in both plaes. [danishcanadian]
I haven't had my summer vacation yet. I don't think I will be taking one this year since gas is so high and funds are low. I just might go somewhere local. [alexsis]
I would love to go somewhere for a summer vacation. But having to tend to my dad makes it nearly impossible. Unless I could talk him into paying a health care associate to visit a few times daily for the time we were gone it's not going to happen. Sucks but that's my life for now anyhow. Hi As I live in a coastal town I tend not to have a summer vacation just walk down to the beach if the weather is good but I do have odd weekends away to visit friends and family so I class these short breaks as my vacations and have had three or four already this year. The one thing I would like to do though is to get to Spain to visit my mother at some stage but haven't organised yet. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Vacation? What's that, that's where you stay home and hound the kids to clean right? Sorry I'm being sarcastic, I have not had a 'real' vacation since my son was about 18 months old, and we couldn't begin to take a vacation again gas, cost, food, lodging you name it. Ideally I'd like to go somewhere with history, like Texas, or my second choice would be Nashville, But maybe when I make a fortune selling pictures or even just a few I can think about taking a vacation. If you count going to St. Louis and staying with family for a week a vacation then yes. We did not do too much exciting stuff while we were there. We did go to the Science Center once. My son seemed to enjoy that. I want to go back to St. Louis in a few weeks and take the kids to the Zoo. My son has not been there in 2 years and the baby has never been there. [lilybug]
Our summer vacation will be coming to us on Sunday, our grandson will be here. hahaha We will take our vacation in November so my husband can get his NASCAR racing fix at Texas MotorSpeedway. LOL [tyc415]
Hello my friend RLFinNash JI, You are lucky taht you can find some quality time to take your family and children for summer vaccations and let them be subjected to new learning and entertainment platfoms. Everytime children are taken out alongwith parents, they always learn. So let us also know their experiences. How much expenses came for how much time. Our "summer vacation" has actually been planned for late October or early November, so nope, haven't gone yet. We do have a short one coming up next month for my daughter's birthday, though. I can't wait until it's time for that fall trip... but it's a very long road trip, so the price of gas will always be a damper when I think about it. [katiedoubleu]
Hello , My fiance and me have not done anything so far this summer . We have a pool which I am always chilling by or we have some sort of cook out . I hope though when my fiance has a vacation in August we can get away a few days to a beach of sort . Heck , I wouldnt even mine spending the whole day at a park fishing , swimming and hiking . Not yet. Actually I think I can say not yet for the past 10 years or so LOL. UNless you want to count going camping as a real vacation heheh It is.. but at the same time it isn't if you know what I mean. It is a vacation and I love it, but when I think about a vacation I think about some time where I don't really have to work that hard LOL In any case so far with my mom coming and my son sick we haven't done anything other than a one day trip to Niagara Falls last sunday. Hi RLFinNash! Summer here in our country has been over a month ago and unfortunately never had the chance to go out of the country nor out of town. I guess, we didn't have the budget for it. I can't see myself going on vacation this summer with my husband. He's gone alot with softball. Since he coaches and manages the team, he travels with the team to various states. I can't see spending time away from home watching softball instead of going to a beach with my husband and relaxing. It's simply not my idea of a fun trip. I don't know most of the players and only know a few parents and would prefer to spend time at home with our kids than to travel with basically strangers. I do go to some of the local games and watch them play. My husband mentioned going to Vegas but nothing more has been said so I doubt it will happen. I would really like to go to Graceland. Not yet ... July 18th for me. Here in France we have generally 4 weeks of summer holidays ...I don't know if my wife and I will go somewhere or not because we are buying a new house, so we'll have to remove soon. [jeancharles]
Do to my hubby's work schedule we have decided to do a lot of little camping trips this year. We went on one to Lithia Springs this past weekend and will be going to Anastasia State Park on July 11 then we have another 6 planned for every other weekend through the end of Oct. BTW if you are looking for fun Lithia Springs was great, and cheap. [freedomg]
My family and I are suppose to go the Chicago in August, I am trying to saving up money for the trip. I am going to find me something to do this summer, I know with gas prices, it's hard to do much of anything. [notlistening2]

Yes. My boyfriend and I went with two other friends to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey (we live in Maryland so it was only like a three hour trip not even) for three days. It was fun but very hot! We all love roller coasters. I might go back to ride the one coaster I was to chicken to get on while we were there just to prove to myself I can do it!! In September my boyfriend and I are going with his family to South Carolina to a secluded beach vacation property for the entire week, so that should be nice. It has five bedrooms and two bathrooms plus a pool and hot tub, and it's beachfront property, so it's a variety of things to do. [Bethany1202]

I sort of went on a summer vacation to Poland, recently, because my grandmother died. I spent most of my time hanging out with relatives, which I guess was OK, but it was kind of exhausting too. My more real vacation was a 4 day spring trip I took to Montreal and Ottawa back in April. I have very little vacation time left now, but I'm hoping I can swing a few days off sometime in August.... nah, we haven't planned anything to go for this summer. we don't hardly get out that much because of the gas prices. i would like to go to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for the summer this year. But, i doubt of that happening since the gas prices are so high, and the rooms there are high a little as well. so, we'll probably spend our summer here at the apartment, and on the internet. Every summer of the year we see to it that we go to places we havent seen here in our country. We have been to a nice man made lake a top of the mountain. Its so nice there. I have been to one of the countrys free port again and go swimming to one of our resort here. [bagumbayan]
Well it is now 2 months later, after you posted this discussion and I can say that I have not gone on vacation this summer and won't be. It is already the end of August and I have not had the chance to take some time off of work to go away. But I did manage to get a couple Fridays and Mondays off and went camping and fishing and went to see some local sites, like the zoo and went hiking in the mountains quite a few times. I am selfemployed and it is hard to get some time off when people are expecting us to clean their houses so they can go on holidays and come back to a clean house. But this winter we, my daughter and I, are going to have some time off between Christmas and New Years so we might be going to Vegas or somewhere warmer like Mexico, for a few days. I would like to go to Vegas for New Year's Eve. I went about 10 years ago with my hubby and it was great fun. [chrislotz]
