Here we had a few days holiday for our Diwali festival. I went on a short vacation with family and I feel so refreshed and happy. The country-side....... family re-union....... and celebrations..... happy I enjoyed it very much.
Friends, do you like your vacations to be short or a long one?

I will be satisfy on a one-week vacation. Just like me, I went to bohol and meet my cousins, chatting, going swimming and having fun to see them. I enjoy someone who you missed, even it is only a short period. :D [miketagz]

Hi Daffodil20! For me, I prefer the short ones. I've tried having a long vacation, that was 15 days straight. When I went back to work, i felt really exhausted that I did not want to work anymore. If the holiday makes me happy,I would feel it's too short no matter,though it is long enough.If it makes me unhappy,even if there is only one hour,I would feel too long...Long or short is doesn't matter.The most important thing is who I go with to spend my holiday. [061234217]

yeah i prefer long vacations because you cant see good places when you have less time,so when you have enough time go out hang around look every part of that city or country side, so i do prefer long one,for at least a weak Gohar [goharayub]

for me, i like the long one, because i have so many friends that i have to meet, we only seen each other during our vacations, we have to make sure that we all have same vacation period so we can spend time together and have bonding again. It's good to have a long vacation than the short one, you'll have time for friends and time for family ans also allow tiome for you to be relax before going to work again... thanks for posting. have a great day! I would prefer a long one, by the seaside. I love beach holidays. But for the past few years, I have only been having short ones, once or twice a year. It does make you feel refreshed, but you tend to get a little more tired from the journey there and back. With a longer vacation, you will have time to rest and enjoy the place more. I can't wait for my next vacation. I hope my hubby can get leave sometime this month, so that we can go to Malaysia with my aunt and her family... [SydneyHazelton]

hmmmm...what a good question! I thought THAT would be simple to say, and, you know? It isn't exactly! I WILL opt for the short one though, like YOU had with Diwali! A break away from the usual and enjoying friends and family with fun and laughter is always good for the soul! sometimes that is really ALL we need to refresh ourselves and be reminded that we have happiness and love in our lives. Such basic needs that we have and we are reminded of them that we in fact DO get these met. feels great!! Isn't it just so?? I sometimes think to get away and travel and see more of the world.. the landscape.. the beauty...aaah yes.... and then I realize I still have obligations to others. I still have my community obligations,and those to my students and to my dog!! LOL.. and who will look after my gardens and talk to them?? yes yes.. it is then just easier to go sailing.. enjoy the beauty of where I am, sleeping in the boat to the lull of water, squinting against the sun, watching the birds and other boaters go by.. THAT is refreshing too in a very special way.. it is also grounding for me and THAT is good.. to KNOW where your place is in nature and feel humbled and grateful and at peace at the same time.. aah what a vacation.. and that takes 1-2 days! not bad,eh? I like longer ones over ten days so I don't have to rush to see everything. The problem is that I also want to have more breaks during the year so I have to split my holidays in three blocks. May be this year I will play in a different way and have a longer holiday and so the chance to go somewhere further and more relaxed. [overwings]

I prefer a long vacation. In the kind of work that I have right now, I really need a long and relaxing time. I deserve to pamper myself, sleep a lot and eat more. Though if time constraint would be a hindrance, then I rather enjoy a short vacation rather than spending my time more on work. [zhaychel]

Going for a vacation gives us a break from our daily grind,and enable us to enjoy and refesh our body and soul.I prefer to have short vacations lasting over a week or 10 days maximum....such short holidays are really enjoyable and welcome.Taking longer holidays doesnt appeal to me.... [Roseo8]

Hi Daffodil, I too celebrated diwali in a grand with my cousins,aunts,uncle and parents and my family too, I am lover of moving with more and more peoples and its very cool to be with family and the chatting are unvaluable. I learned much from the family and members [rkrish]

I would welcome ANY vacation length if it meant I could actually go on vacation somewhere! I have not had a holiday in about 4 years now unfortunately and would love the chance to get away somewhere for a few days! Here in Egypt there is a long break of around a week coming up in early December, which this time around is probably more frustrating than anything else because all businesses shut down over this time and all my business activities have to stop until everyone comes back. At this moment in time; and given that I can't go anywhere; I much prefer a single day here and there rather than a longer term break. [James72]
