I just arrived home a few hours ago from my trip to Texas as I had a wonderful time there with my family. I had so much fun that I did not want to leave and come back. Unfortunately, I have my townhouse and job to go back to. Do you feel down when you have to come back from a nice trip? Or are you excited about getting back to the daily routines of work and whatever else keeps you busy daily? It was hard saying goodbye to my family in Texas but plan on going back in the fall. I am not ready to go back to work and have laundry and other stuff to get caught up on. It hard for me to get excited about going back to work after a vacation.

I usually feel really tired when I get back from a trip! It's almost like you have to recover from the vacation. That being said, it's nice to get away and enjoy different sites awhile, isn't it? Even though it's exhausting! You always need another week to take care of stuff at home. [cremechese]

When I come home from a vacation, I always feel like I have a million things to do. I like to unpack as soon as possible, then I usually throw in a load of laundry. I sit down and go through all the mail that came while I was gone. You know those bills don't stop coming just cause I went on vacation :) I usually feel like I need a day to just hang out at home and catch up on things before going to work. It's always nice to go away for awhile, but there's really no place like home. [daycarepal]
When I got home, I had a ton of regular mail to go through and bills to pay as well as do laundry, get food and check emails and other things. I definitely hate all the catching up to do when I get home. [kgwat70]
Ken, was just wondering when you first post would come in after your vacation..Vacations have a bittersweet affect on us..We hate to leave but must.. For me, I love vacations..and it is hard to return to the regular grind..but I love my own life too..doesn't mean I don't love my family.. I had to get settled in a bit before I could come online and post anything as I did not have any food to eat when i returned and was hungry. I love vacations and most likely will be taking some time off this summer as well. I do like Delaware though there are some things that I do not like as well. vacation what is that? i havent had one of those in 14 years lol. my idea of vacation is going to the store with out the kids and being able to afford everything we have to have lol. no really i am glad you had a good time. i know when we have to go out of town for what ever reason when i get back all i want to do is sleep and wish fairys would unpack me. lol [easymoney75503]

Vacation with the family would have been heaven fo r you. Anyway i am still a student and at times i go home for vacations and i never want to return back. And for you, you are working so it would have been a very wonderful vacation after all those stress in your office and with your boses. Well considering I havent had a vacation since I was 16 I guess I would feel relaxed yet nopt wanting to get back in to a rut of daily work and house hold things. Unfortunately that is the way things are when you are not rich. When you have to bust your but to put food on the table and a roof over your head. I usually am looking forward to getting home, but I also feel tired and just want a week home not to have to work or worry about doing other household chores. lol You'd think you'd be recharged and feeling good to go back to the daily routine. First thing - TIRED. I will just lie in my nice bed and sleep for the better part of the day. Especially if there is jet lag involved. After that, I would feel a bit lost.. as if I am still floating in some dream world and my soul refuses to be anchored again. :P [lordwarwizard]
If you have done a good job while having your vacation, you should be newly energised to get started at work again soon. If you are just as tired as you went of to the vacation you have had a much too busy schedule while you were there. I dont go out for a vacation very often, simple a financial question. But I do remember from all the times: when I got home, set foot on my own house again, found out there were no burglary's while I was away and I can kick off my shoes and get myself my own normal just the way I like it-cup of coffee. It happens to me alot to, I keep having these weird aniversaries, I go every year and I would count how many months ago I've been, and how many months before I can see my family backing and its really hard settling into normal routine after a holiday, you're still jet lagged [xelissa]
I feel worn out by the time i get home from a vacation. With 5 kids I still have to do everything on vacation. But I love going, and we have a great time. When you come home you still have heaps to do, and its usually left to me. It is like school holidays, even if you stay home, by the end I am tired. I was lucky a few weeks ago I got away by myself without the kids for a couple of days. It was wonderful!! But I found I missed my hubby and kids. [kayrod2]

I haven't been on a vacation for several years, but usually I am ready to go home by the end of it. And then I will be tired, in a good way. It depends on the vacation too of course, our last vacation we rented a houseboat with friends for five days, and it was so relaxing and enjoyable. Actually when you are on a trip you never feel like going back because you enjoy it so much. You are away from work and that is quite what you want after some hectic working hours. I really feel exhausted. I feel like I'm more tired rather than coming home after work. As people make more money, often they think that now is the time to enjoy themselves more. Lie sure becomes more important in their lives. So, they want to travel. One problem, however, is that they don't really know where they want to go or what they want to do when they get there. So, they blindly go somewhere, just because they think it is fashionable to do so. Often they take some package tour that offers them 10 countries in 7 days. That way, they collect a lot of stamps in their passport and a lot of predictable photographs, but they don't have much about where they've been. A much better approach would be to decide where they really want to go, and why, and then plan far enough in advance in order to accomplish those goals. I like to have at least one "buffer" day between returning from a nice trip, and getting back to work. Also, I cannot stand to come back to a messy house. I will clean the house before I leave, so that I can return to a nice, clean house with a minimum of fuss. Welcome back! I know exactly how you feel. We got home from Indiana last night, and I didn't want to leave. That's why we're moving back there next week. I hate leaving when I go for trips. I don´t unpack my luggage until the following day. Same with doing the laundry, unless it´s absolutely necessary. Usually I don´t feel down when I come back from a trip, I just think that I was lucky to have had the chance to get away from home for a while. But you went to see your family and really enjoyed the time you´ve all had together, which is different. Well even though I know I will miss my family when I leave from vacation, I know I have my husband and animals ( my family here) to get home to.
