Hi Everyone
I have returned from my seven day holiday. We went to Victor Harbor, a small tourist town on the coast. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. A lot of the time we just hang around reading & drinking wine.
We visited the wildlife park, which specializes in Australian native animals. We also went fishing. This was not sucessful. The seals were hanging around & scaring the fish. There were three seals right up next to the jetty & bluff. They were fascinating to watch, especially when playing.
My hubby & my daughter also hired bikes to cycle along the esplanade.
We do have photos, but they haven't been downloaded yet.
I know I have missed many many of your discussions. I will do a bit of a search this weekend to see if I can catch up on any of them. If not, I will just have to wait until you start aew one.

Well Jenny be sure to relax as well. You just got back, you should rest up. You shouldn't have to deal with us uncouth mylotters after getting back from doing so many cool things XD =). Glad you had such a good time! [theprogamer]

I can't imagine fishing around seals! That sounds so amazing. I mean fishing around crocodiles is done here, but I don't think we have the pleasure of sharing fishing space with seals. I'm glad you guys got to get away and relax a bit. It sounds like a dream vacation. [AmbiePam]
The seals come when people are fishing, as they like to eat whiting. This then scares the whiting, & they disappear. The seals then just play. [jennybianca]

Welcome back jenny, this is really what everybody needs from time to time , and the best thing is to get relaxed in the wild where the air is free from pollution and it's so fresh , there is no noise or roars ,just go now to rest and when you settle down upload your trip's pics :) I like the wild ... It is nice to have you back. Was it just the three of you? I bet one of the best things about the getaway was getting away from both the exwife and the two stepkids. I'm trying to visit mylot more often since alot of my friends have started topics that i really want to respond too. I'm glad you had a good time on vacation. Sounds like a wonderful holiday! I'd love to see seals up close. When my family and I used to go camping at Stradbroke Island we'd always see dolphins come really close to the jetty. I think I need a holiday now! [coffeeshot]

That must be a great great time... I love travelling, but the restrictions are too much. While i'm sitting here before the computer, see the picture from friends' blog when they were having fun, god! it was a disaster! I envy you so much...haha [yanqiyao]

We had some lovely weather at Easter time but it rained a great deal in July. Most of August has been quite cool apart from a few sunny days. A few days ago the weather was quite hot so I went to the town beach. The tide was in so I enjoyed a little paddle, carefully holding my baby son in my arms. The sea felt rather chilly at first and after a while quite refreshing. Some people were swimming but it was far too cold for me to do this. A bit later on we enjoyed a walk along the pier. It has quite a happy sort of atmosphere and is a delightful place for a stroll. The views out to see, on such a clear day, were amazing. I could see an unspoilt piece of land jutting out to sea, a hilly island, a flat island and another coastline across the water. [joshuaf25]
I bet your baby son was excited when he felt the sea. I remember my daughter being highly excited by the ocean & the seaweed, when she first saw it as a toddler. What a beautiful day you must have had. [jennybianca]
