There are so many beautiful places in this world to see. I have lived in several states during the course of my life....but there are so many places I would love to go.
I am sure that this "place" will be different than the way you would have answered it several years ago or even in the future.....because things are constantly changing in our lives that shift priorities somewhat....
At this time, I would like to visit the Grand Canyon.....Or the Pacific Ocean.......this is my son's last summer before he starts to school....we want to take him somewhere this summer but have not decided where.
I thought that maybe some of you could help by telling me where you would go and why?? Your responses, as always, are greatly appreciated!

Ive always wanted to go to Alaska and Germany. Both places are great and have so much history and stuff to see...well mainly Germany. I am fascinated with Germanys history and have family that had been there. The pictures that I have seen of both places are simply beautiful. I just really want to visit Alaska. I went last year in September and I toured the whole Loch Ness, and I even sat on the banks watching out hoping to see her, but sadly not a glimpse. Obviously she was on vacation at the time. Scotland is beautiful and you'll love it! [wolfie34]
I have always wanted to visit Alaska. The movies and shows that I have seen have made it look so beautiful. I would love to spend some time there camping and fishing and just enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Have you visited Michigan yet? The Upper Penisula is so beautiful. So many water falls and light houses. The Great Lakes are amazing. So is Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore. Michigan is a must visit state. [lightningMD]
Alaska seems to be a popular desired place to visit nnd I must admit that everything I have seen in pictures, movies and books do make it look like a lovely place to visit. I have seen the Great Lakes when I was younger, you are right, they are breathtaking......I do so love waterfalls and rock outcroppings. I do appreciate your input into this deiscussion. [tinamwhite]

I think I would love to go to Washington state. I have an older sister who lives there with her husband and four sons. I miss seeing her on a daily basis. I would also like to take a trip to Germany. My Uncle has lived there for years. He flies back to the states every couple of years but I would like to be able to see some of the places he talks about when he is visiting. [KissThis]
KissThis, thanks so much for your input--Yes, Germany sounds absolutely wonderful. I have also never been to Washington state, but my husband lived there once when he was a kid.....he has many fond memories of living there. The place I want to visit most is Alaska.That place is absolutely breathtaking,at least in the pictures. I also want to visit the Anartica but I don't think you and your family would want to go there,lol. I also want to see the grand canyon,yosemite,england,the pyaraids,the alamo.I could go on and on. I would love to go to a lot of places outside the U.S., but most of all to Brazil, South America. I have friends there who I love very much. They've come to visit us, and always talk about their country, and have sent us amazing pictures. They live close to Rio DEGennaro, so that would be very exciting. Also the Philippines, there is the sweetest young lady there who I communicate with through the Internet, she has also sent pictures, so beautiful, I would love to see her and her Island! Oh yes, Brazil would be a great place to visit...and having friends there would be an added bonus..I do not know very much about the Phillipines but the pictures I have seen show it to also be a loevely place.... I think if I only got to pick one place I'd pick Spain. It looks like a beautiful country. But eventually, I think I'd like to go everywhere, and I mean that. I want to visit every country on the face of the planet, even if I just get off the plane, set foot and get back on. :) [breepeace]

I would love to go to Rhodes, to see the Colossus especially, sadly I missed out going a few years back my cousin got married in Rhodes and I had work commitments so couldn't go, I saw all the pictures and nothing but great things about Rhodes, so that is where I'd love to go, the beautiful blue sea and warm weather (but not too hot!) As much as i want to travel abroad, i think i would want to explore my own country first. Philippines is comprised of over 7,000 island so most of us have different cultures. Beaches and historical places here are also breathtaking, I would want to know my country more. ;) [Palace_Girl]

I have been to Florida...Miami...it was absolutely gorgeous in places..... I have never been to New York...but have seen some lovely pictures and have a few friends that live there. I would also love to visit the Grand Canyon....they recently added a glass & metal horshoe that goes out over part of it and the view must be awesome...i would love to take my 5 yr. old out there..maybe we ca one day. The Seychelles and Maldives Islands; The Grand Canyon sound good too, but the first is my biggie choices. of course, they are miles apart, but that is my choice. [Savvynlady]
Well, that is my first choices; The Seychelles is off the coast of Africa, and the Maldives is in the Pacific; I found out about these places in this book, 100 Places to See in Your Lifetime: Heaven on Earth (Time Life). So since then, I have been curious about both places. I had a friend from Austria to send me postcards of the Seychelles, and now I am trying to get some from the Maldives. [Savvynlady]
i will just go around my beloved philippines. i will never have good enough share of the good things and places that my own country has to offer. the island alone where i am settled is quite large and i have never ever had the opportunity to go to all the tourist spots which are so naturally available for the people to enjoy. I would love to go to the whitsunday islands in Australia. The beaches are like something out of a fairy story. Well from the pictures I have sen it looks amazing! And sand that never gets hot is just beyond my comprehension! [mummyofthree]
Oh my, yes a sand that does not get hot would seem unimaginable to me as well...what a wonderful thought...lying out on the beach surrounded by bright and beautiful waters gently rolling into the coastline...a gentle breeze blowing.....and the sand NOT radiating so hot that you feel like you are in an oven.... Thank you so much, my friend.....for some reason my son has decided that he wants to see the rebuilding of New Orleans....I guess that is because it was on the news so much over the past year.....he wants to see the ocean and eat real Cajun food...he loves seafood like crawdads and snow crab..and shrimp so he is very excited about it.... We plan to go around the first week of August...I will take lots of pictures when we go..so I can share with all of my friends...
