I would, because I only call people I am very close to my friend. So, if I had the money, and they had the time to see me, I would go. However, I would not visit everyone who considers me a friend, because some people who think of me as a friend I do no and they are not worth walking across the street for. [smartie0317]

Yes I would. I have a friend that is in Germany and I would love to visit her, the only thing stopping me is not having enough money. I also have several friends here in the US that are to far away to visit because of a lack of cash flow. It would be fun to be able to visit them all. I think that by the end of next year I will have been able to see all of my friends here in the US and perhaps in the next 5 years my friend in Germany. [okkidokitokki]

Yes! I would leave tomorrow! I have friends in different parts of Italy, some of whom I have already met, that I met in after setting up a chatroom in Italian 8 years ago. I have already travelled to meet several of them here during past summers and I have enough invites to spend 6 months travelling round Italy and staying with them all a short time. This trip is planned for when I stop working. I have also made some friends in all the continents too. Some are friends from school who moved abroad and others are online friends with whom I am in contact through email, IM and phone calls (which I have free to most countries too). If I had the chance I would give up my job and leave tomorrow and visit them all. I fear this will never be possible and I will have the arduous task of deciding who to see and who not to see in future years doh [mysdianait]

I think it would depend on the country they were in, I know it sounds selfish in a way but I am not keen on flying, in fact I try to avoid flying when possible, most of my friends on Mylot and my other online friends are in America but a few are in Australia. If I had a friend in New Zealand then yes I would love to visit, or a friend in Sweden, or closer to home Ireland. I have always wanted to go to New Zealand and if I had the money I would definitely fly over there to see a friend and hopefully they could show me their country and where to go. [wolfie34]

We exchange cards and gifts at christmas, we chat regularly and I feel like a part of their lives. One of them i have talked to several times on the phone as well. Yes definitely, if she's dear to me. I met a friend on the chatroom before and she's twice my age. We've been friends for (5) five years now, constant communication through mails and phone calls. I really love her coz she's like a mom to me. I'm currently searching for ways so I could save much to get to California to visit her. Its a dream, and I wish I could see her some day. I would've said that I'd travel to see my friend in Britain, but I'm not sure how safe it'd be now. They're kind of...hyper fascist atm, and our own government's been toeing the line with all the renditions they've encouraged or done, and a handful of known instances of "disappearing" our own citizens now (most notably, that sixteen year old girl...though they left her family alone, claiming she planned on making molotov cocktails or some such though the media didn't say there was any evidence to support that). I'm a blogger and activist...very outspoken. So travel to visit my friend there seems a bit...well, like a greater gamble with my life than normal. I'd have to really think about it. As for my friend living in the southern states, her situation...well, lets just say she's got alot of troubles and I'd rather donate some money to her to give her means to get out of all that and into something better than go down there and possible make things harder for her. I would like to visit a dear friend of mine that lives in Chile. She would be able to show me some of the sights of the locality that she lives in. It would be lovely if she would come with me to see Machu Picchu because I know it is very high on both our travel wish lists. Yes, I would travel to meet a friend. Actually, because I am friends with them, I would travel to their area to meet them and have them give me a tour. Hehe. I love food, and the cultures of others are quite interesting too. But again... FOOD! Yum! I have friends in norway, uk, ireland, scotland, brazil, australia, and canada. Offcourse, i would for sure because i love travelling and will also get an opportunity to not only meet my friend but also get a chance to travel and visit places. I don't like traveling a lot. I get homesick very easily when I travel to another place. I think I will try to travel depending on the distance and depending on my health condition. Well, when I was young I used to make pen friends. I had pen freinds from the world around. I wanted to meet a few of my friends but I did not have the money to travel to another country. In those days if I had the money I would surely have travelled all the way from my country to another country. But not now, as I am married now and I have responsibilites towards my wife.
