I saw on the news and in several locations on the web where is says vp candidate Sarah Palin allowed 3 daughters to come along for purposes other then political and the cost to the state of ALaska was over $21,000 dollars..hmmm..

It may be old news but the new news is that she changed the paperwork from when she originally submitted it and the children were not invited Sarah invited them herself. Well, if she was the first and only politician, for president or otherwise - it could have reason to be concerned, but since THEY ALL DO IT - just don't get caught or the "other side" doesn't bring it forward...it just isn't talked about. But THEY ALL DO IT...have for years, will for years. To make big issue of it with Palin - just pathetic. To not vote simply cause she "got caught" and Michelle hasn't (although I saw a web site that showed a resturant receipt for couple hundred dollars for lunch of lobster for 2 with her signature) They all do it from the city officials to the state officials and on up to the president officials - they all do it, they all have done it and they all will continue doing it! Hillary Clinton took Chelsea on an African safari when Bill was president and the government refused to publish the cost of it. There's nothing unique about bringing children with you on the state's budget. If you really think it's that serious, take a look at your own governor or the governor of other states. I think she's a mother and she's doing a great job for Alaska...and she'll be an awesome VP. I think that she SAVED tons of money in Alaska. i dont like it of course, but like others have said..most of them probably do the same thing. course the gov pays couple hundred dollars for toilet seats too. what actually irked me more than her charging the kids to the ppl, was her wardrobe. she is claiming to be just one of us, a 'hockey mom" etc, like the rest of us, but she is in some fancy, not to mention EXPENSIVE clothes!! oh oh..but MOST of them were bought off the rack..so thats okay then. sheesh. from what i understand its the repulican party that is paying for her clothes, but still where do they get that money from? and if your trying to be "one of us" then why the hell are you wearing clothes that i would have to stop feeding my family for 2 months in order to afford?! and thats probably just for ONE suit! i dont think she should be in rags of course, but she doesnt need designer clothes that are probably worth more than my car is right now. I have been told that the Republican party paid for the Palin family to be outfitted in the best clothes in the best stores and such, and the tab came up to like 150,000 US dollars in a period of two months. I have donated to the Obama campaign myself, and I thank you for informing me on the fact of how he paid for those infomercials because I wasn't sure. I also thank you for not keeping this discussion above board at such a time. I was ready to bash the lady myself, but I have to consider the fact of probably why McCain picked her. He saw a woman with kids, who was running a state, he felt she could be a good choice and he ran with it. Mind you, I'm trying looking at this from where he stand, not mine. When you say the tab was picked up by the state of Alaska, was it for getting around to these political rallies and what not? Because that could be the case here. And with her having young children, she can't very well leave them at home all the time, so that may be why this tab was the way it is. I know I spoke on this. Well, Since I don't work, I can't afford either; The last time I went on a trip, it was to Georgia to see my uncle in the hospital because he had a stroke. and the only reason I was able to go was because I got my income tax refund. For me to go anywhere with my daughters is an expense. You are right. And for the majority of this year, I didn't get to go anywhere because I couldn't afford it. So,I hear you loud and clear. The majority of Americans can't afford to go anywhere or do little luxuries like that. I pray it gets better. But yes, on this I see your point.
