in your area? Will you be going away? Has the cost of gas influenced your vacation plans? What vacation plans do you have?
One year, we couldn't afford to go anywhere, so we vacationed in our woods. We pitched a tent and stayed. This year we are going to events in the Northern part of NY state which is our area, quite expanded from our back yard. I hope we can afford it. My husband seems to think so. I'm not so sure. I'd just like time with him since we work different hours and days. What's most important to you about your vacation?

I have neither the time nor the money now to go away, but it doesn't bother me. I would still rather stay in my own area and spent more time exploring. I have only lived in this part of the country for eighteen months and there are many interesting and lovely places I still intend to visit on days out. I have been abroad and visited different countries but I've spent far more time in my own country, which is not so big but has many beautiful places worth visiting. I love being in the countryside so it doesn't really matter to me which part of the world I'm in as long as I can enjoy fresh air, nice views and interesting wildlife. [paid2write]
Thank you very much-we did have a wonderful time- and you're welcome. [writersedge]
We aren't going anywhere this summer. My husband is a softball coach and he is leaving next week for Minnesota with his team. I will remain home with the dog and cat. I wouldn't enjoy sitting outside at all their games and won't have a rental car so I would have to go wherever the team went. Just not my idea of fun. I did go visit our daughter in Arizona in April so that was my vacation. Got to see the grandkids. My husband couldn't go with me because he was too busy with work. We have talked about going to Tunica in the fall. That would be a fun trip. I would also love to visit Graceland. Will see what develops. Gas prices wouldn't keep us from traveling. Our work schedules are just so different as you mentioned. [carolbee]
Ok, I had just never heard of it. Los Vegas, Atlanta, some of the Native American spots up here, but not that one. Take care and thanks. [writersedge]
I seldom get a vacation these days. I used to travel with my mother, but my mother can't travel now and I need to be with her as much as possible. When my mom had a condo in Colorado, I would fly up at the end of the summer and spend a few days with her there before helping her close up the condo and drive back to Texas. I doubt I'll trave much anyway, not just the cost of vacations, but I really don't have any place I'd rather be than home. [ElicBxn]
you are right, it has been really hard Thank you for your well wishes. [ElicBxn]
I would love to go on a vacation, even if it's just a short trip to a neighbouring country. I don't know if we could do it at the end of the year. What's important about having a vacation is that my daughter enjoys herself, not get overly tired on the way there and learn new things. [SydneyHazelton]
Sounds good. Stay-cations we learn more about our immediate area, there are many local places people don't see or haven't visited because they go farther off. Either way, as long as she doesn't get overly tired and learns new things is definitely the way to go. Thanks and take care. [writersedge]
