i dont even have to click to know which video this is lol.. and yeah i agree.. if its not disposable and wrapped im not drinking out of it!! [moonlitmagikchild]
We need the hotels involved to make a public statement. [lordwarwizard]

Wow! That is nasty as all heck. I am glad we have throw away ones in most of our hotels/motels here. I tend not to use the glasses unless they are the individually wrapped one anyway but still, eeeeewwwwww. Think about the diseases and the chemicals in their so called "cleaners". Don't want that sh1t in my glass. Kat [Kat4676]

Eeeewww Jedi, I am so glad I do not stay in hotels/motels. If ever I do, I now know to take my own glasses. Yuk that is so gross. [Goodie123]
Eeeewww, yuk, gross. Bottled water for me when staying in a motel. [Goodie123]

That is sickening!! All the motels we stay in use the throw away plastic cups in wrappers. When we use one, we throw it away! I can't say we haven't used a glass one though, but it's been many years ago. [Barb42]
I cant remember if I have or not either, its been a few years since I stayed in a hotel that actually had glasses lol. [darkjedi]

Ok you maybe Cool and Weird, but this has been out for awhile so you better get your news items together soon..rasp and I agree ! [Rosekitty]

Hello darkjedi, I never go to hotel or motels but what is that blue stuff in the glass, i couldn't make out what this girl was doing. Tamara [tamarafireheart]
DUH. Glass cleaner! No streaks, no spots! Of course it works on windows, why not spray your drinking glasses with it? Sometimes I think the people who work at hotels are morons.. [mommyboo]

I saw something about this on the news some months ago and it is just terrible. Bleh! Patooie!! [Shhhhhhhhhh]

Hotel rooms are nasty. The 1st thing I do when staying in a hotel room is throw the bedspreads on the floor. Someone was raped in a motel room and the police found 7 different types of semen on it. Most hotels wash the bedspreads no more than twice a year. I have seen videos of maids using a cloth to wipe lipstick off of dirty glasses. Then putting it in with the clean ones. [Angra_Mainyu]
Ive never done it, never really put the bedspreads on the floor, usually to cold in there to do that. [darkjedi]

yeah i've seen it before. it's apalling that they do it in high class hotels too. i don't think it's very practical to bring my own glass when traveling though. so the last time i stayed in a hotel i washed a couple of the glasses with soap and hot water before using them. and no, i didn't dry them using the towel in the bathroomlol talking about which, do you think the towels are clean? [aidenw]
Yeah I doubt they are very clean themselves. [darkjedi]

That last one was the worst; think of all the germs on that damn glove!shocked [myklj999]
Yeah I know, should have taken that off, that was the grossest part. [darkjedi]

This is absolutely f***ing GROSS. Since I'm about to stay at a hotel, I suppose this was a good thing to come across. However, I have never seen actual glasses at any hotel I have stayed at. They provide wrapped disposable plastic cups everywhere I have been in the last 10 years. I am thinking though maybe about bringing a small travel size container of lysol or clorox wipes so I can wipe off the desk or nightstand tops, the tv remote, and the towel racks and door handles... [mommyboo]
Yeah that would probably be a good idea, ive never thought of doing that, but may do it someday in the future. [darkjedi]

Ewwww.. Good thing that I am poor and have only been to motels where they have plastic cups. That sh*t is straight up nasty! [_sketch_]
Lol yeah me too, yes it is nasty. [darkjedi]

Wow dj! That was really nasty!!! Good for those reporters! Now that I've seen that video, I'm with you! I wouldn't ever touch a glass in a hotel/motel again! I don't even like to sleep anywhere because of the things I've heard and seen. I don't want to sleep in a bed where they use the same dirty blankets for I don't know how many people. The thought of even sitting on the bed grosses me out! If you really think about I'm sure you wouldn't even want to go near the room at all! That's really sick! You know they might change the sheets, but they don't change the blanket and I don't like sleeping in the same bed where god know's what was going on! [Opal26]
Yeah I know, you would think they would be required to wash them. [darkjedi]

Watched the start of the video, you are over-reacting, there is no health risk here. The maid washed the glass, albeit briefly. What rot! all the best urban [urbandekay]
ooooooooookkkkkkk.....rolleyes [_sketch_]

Well i dont use motels/hotels so know probs there Jedi. Yeh it was gross !! [LoudnProud]

umm how bout actually washing the glass before you use it? theres a concept... [tessah]

I have tried to have a look of the video, but I failed. I can, however, guess what the video will show. I always try not to use the things of hotel, such as the towel, cup, toothbrush for I believe that the servies of the hotel do not clean the things as I do. This video will confirm me to use my own things further. [arthurSung]
In China, the goverment has published a policy some time ago to inhibit the use of the things such as toothbrush and towel in hotel and advise the people to use theri own. However, some small inns do not obay with this rule yet. It may take a period of time to change the situation at all. [arthurSung]

Oh my gosh! That is horrible! I will think twice about drinking out of a hotel glass now. Makes you wonder what else in that hotel room is not really clean. Does the remote to the tv get cleaned? Who knows how many people handle those. I have all sorts of horrid scenarios going through my head. I may never stay in a hotel room again! [bmorehouse1]
Lol yeah I will too, never thought about the tv remote before, but yeah tons of people handle them and I doubt they ever get cleaned at all, and the people probably never wash their hands either. [darkjedi]

This is no different than going around and kissing every stranger on the street. I know that's weird, but so is this. Can you say YUCK!!! Thank you for sharing this. I had no idea, and my daughter is a competetive cheerleader, and we travel everywhere and stay in lots of hotels. I'm going to kiss every stranger on the street, and I'm not using hotel glasses anymore. I usually brought my favorite coffee cup, and we usually have travel cups, so we really don't use the glasses for any more than my mother to keep her dentures in and to use a rinse cup after brushing our teeth. My mother never let us use the comforters on the beds because they are only washed once a month, so we always brough extra blankets. Well, I'm packing cups as well. Thanks again. [loveromances]
Uh yeah that would be gross lol. [darkjedi]

I watched the video. Wow... I don't know the maker of the video so I can't be satisfied that that was the truth and not doctored in some ways. Whichever the case, I ALWAYS wash the glasses before I use them - no matter how clean-looking they are. I guess if you have hot water (from the tap or otherwise), use it to rinse the glass as at 100 deg celsius, all the bacteria will be killed. But you can't stop virus. What do we expect? Life is a dirty place anyway. We can only do what we can to try to keep safe. [lordwarwizard]
Yeah if I ever use any Ill wash them out first now too. I would rinse them out but never really wash them in the past. [darkjedi]

darkjedi thanks for uncovering this really hideous practice. I will never ever use a hotel glass again. this is just plain sickening and the health directors should be getting after the hotels that practice these unhealthy ways of cleaning glasses. you are right, it is very gross. [Hatley]
Lol I didnt really uncover it, I just stumbled across it. Thanks thoguh. [darkjedi]

Ewwwwwwwwww..that's DISGUSTING!!!!! How do they get away with those practices??????? I'm never touching a glass unless it is wrapped in plastic. Shoot, after this, I may just pack my own glasses or go to the nearest store and buy my own!!! [Wyldrose]
They get away with it because nobody has exposed them doing it before, and nobody really cares about a motel or hotel room it seems like. [darkjedi]

I used to work in a hotel when I was in college. People who work in hotels can get away with just about anything. Who's the wiser? [DeadTired]
Yeah exactly, no one really knows. [darkjedi]

This doesn't surprise me. I don't imagine the bedspreads get washed often either. Be interesting to see what a black light might reveal on those. [BrokenDoll]
I dont really think I want to see what that blacklight would reveal lol. [darkjedi]

I think Randy is a cool name, I wish it were mine. I would love for people to ask me if I was Randy. As for the cleanliness issue. I think it is good practice to wash before use, whatever it may be. [Scoop_Dogg]
Yeah it is a good rule, one more people, me included lol, need to do. [darkjedi]

This is pretty gross. Sometimes I feel like the whole world is on crazy pills. [pianokeynecktie]
Yeah me too, and stupid pills. [darkjedi]

i've worked in hotels-believe me,the glasses are the mildest of the problems. the overspread and blankets don't get changed out on a regular basis either. it has to stink,be wet or visibly stained before they do. best thing you can do when renting a room is call down for an extra blanket and rip the ones off the bed.only way you'll get a clean one. and for god's sake, try not to check in on sunday afternoon.that's when housekeeping is backed up the worst and people hurry the rooms.
