Thinking Of Going On A Cruise. Is It Worth The Money Or Just A Rip Off

I was thinking of taking a cruise for our honeymoon, and was wondering if any of you had been on one? If so was it worth the money you spent, or did you find that to enjoy it you had to spend another small fortune on board? Where did you go?

I had good time when I went on cruise when I was in college. I went with Royal Carribean. It was really nice and cool! I think it worth the money. I went to Bahamas. [maya_n_bennett]
Cool, how long was the trip? [shoreboy31]

I went on my first cruise ever this summer. It was me, my mom, and my bf. We had this whole pack of things, for really very little money. The only catch, and the reason why it was so cheap, was that we had to spend one morning (about 2 hours) listening to a person telling us about uh.. oh what's it called. This.. .thing. The name slipped my mind. Anyway, it wasn't important, and for the rest of the time we were free to enjoy ourselves. The cruise was AMAZING. It's definately worth, we had so much fun. I recommend this kind of thing, because it's usually really cheap. I wish I could remember what it's called. By the way, the whole time on the cruise, you don't feel that you're moving. Until all of a sudden you walk into a wall, and then you're like "How'd that happen? o.o" [Aeval39]
Sure...I'm sure Dawn wouldn't mind... [shoreboy31]

Dont know about the experience but wow what a plan for honeymoon-will you marry me? [mansha]
Sorry, already taken by the most wonderful woman in the world... [shoreboy31]

My husband and I have been looking at cruises for our honeymoon also. We weren't able to take one because our daughter was only 2 1/2 months old and I was breastfeeding at the time we were married. My aunt has been on one and said it is worth it and they are so much fun with all kinds of things to do on the ship while you our at sea. [JulietsMom777]
Well thanx...hey, maybe we'll see you when we take ours...we'll be sure to buy you a drink if we do...lol [shoreboy31]

I absolutely love going on cruises. I have been on 2 so far. Both Carnival. I have been on the Conquest and the Glory. Both great ships. Cruises are worth the money. At least on Carnival anyway. We always get an inside room because we dont spend alot of time in the room. There is always something going on. Shows and games..you can lay out on the deck, swim, sit in the hottub, go to a bar or nightclub, eat (which is what I like to do lol) There is always food available 24/7. All included unless you eat at a formal restaurant..then sometimes theres a charge. There are formal restaurants, buffets, a pizzeria, a grill, a sushi bar (on the Glory) chinese food and a deli. I eat way too much in a week..but I love it!!! Another thing I like to do is grab a seat at the back of the ship and just watch the water..its very relaxing. You can end up spending alot of money onboard if you arent careful. In the shops and if you plan on drinking alcohol..because that is not included. What is included is juices, lemonade, tea, milk and hot chocolate. You will get a sail and sign card (if you cruise carnival..not sure how the other crusielines work) and alot of people refer to the card as your Drink and Sink card lol! But if you dont plan on drinking or buying souviners on the ship you shouldnt spend that much money. Just in port..and you can usually find good deals in port. Well I could go on and on..but I wont. Let me just say..I love cruising and plan on going again next year. I dont think you will be disappointed. You just have to get use to swaying back and forth hehe. Anyway, good luck in whatever you choose to do and have fun!!!! [Riah50]
Thank you for the wonderful information...based on your answer it sound like we are gonna have a lot of fun... [shoreboy31]

I've never been on a cruise but for our honeymoon we got an All Enclusive package and went a really nice resort in Cancun. All Inclusive is the way to go! We bought everything off of the yahoo travel site and I think it ended up being $1200.00 all together (yes, that's for BOTH of us) and that covered airfare, hotel and food! It was great! The resort we stayed at had about 6 different restaurants, great entertainment, 24 hour room service, bars and was just an overall dream vacation - i think we mabye spent $5.00 our whole honeyoon and that was to buy some cigars! I would reccomend doing this - we had the most fantastic honeymoon ever! [stru9559]
wow that is a beautiful view, and sounds like an awesome deal...I may look into that... thanx... [shoreboy31]
