Usually we don'g give tips in our country because they are collect service charge from the bills. And additional of 10%-15% of the payment. [lynnchua]
hmmmm thats differnt as tip should go to waiter who was serving ur table anyways their rules no comments [cupid74]

Hi Cupid, Yes I give tips.. It's normally between 5 to 10 % of the bill.. I think it makes a difference even when you go to the same restaurant over and over you get a special treatment from the waiters there... Take care... [MorningDew]
Hi Dew thanks for response 5-10% of bill sound Ok yeah u r right if u regularly visit them and ur behaviour and tips are good then every body recognisde u and give u special treatment very true and keep in touch [cupid74]

Sometimes, I do. It all depends on the quality of service I got from them. If I'm satisfied, I am generous enough to give them some tips. Also, aside from my tip, I would seldom even say thank you to them. It's nice to appreciate people from time to time. It makes your heart bloom in kindness. [nengs10]
Hi Nengs thanks for ur response to give tip and says thanks are really good u get their attention and on bext visit get special protocol u r right, appreciating people is best way to motivate take care [cupid74]

normally i give a tip when i am satisfied with their service. i usually have some change in my wallet so i prefe to give change & if i am not happy with their service , i dont bother to even look back [itsmepinky]
Hi Pinky thanks for nice response sure they deserve for reward/tip if they satisfy u and serve u better true [cupid74]

Although I'll probably get another lecture on here about this for mentioning it, I usually don't tip. The service would really have to be exceptional and I'd have to feel particularly generous. I know alot of people count on tips to survive jobs like that, but I've always felt it was the restaurant/hotel's job to pay their staff. :} [heathcliff]
hi again i agree with u tip must be seperate and given to the person serving ur table it should not be part of bill as i am sure resturant is already charging all extra/service charges and no doubt handsome profit tooo if they say that add to bill then i ask the waiter first if he will get what i will write, if he says yes i add it if he says no, then i dont take care [cupid74]

Yes we do, mostly between 15 & 20 %. If the service is lousy then its just 10%. We on't tip in New Zealand so it was all new to us when we came here. [maddysmommy]
hmmm thats sound good and OK take care Enjoy [cupid74]

Oh definitely! I've worked in catering for many years and know how horrible the job can be sometimes, how utterly nasty some customers can be to you. If I have been waited on I will ALWAYS tip 10%. If the service is exceptional (a smile will do it for me) I will tip 20%. I got tipped once just for being smiley, it wasn't much but it was nice. The very fact people think to tip is enough to cheer me up, though tipping is becoming the thing to do now, so it's losing it's charm... there is no thought, people do it automatically. When serving someone you should never look miserable and always have good manners; these people pay your wages. Conversely, you should always be kind to someone serving you; they have a damn hard time! So tipping them is a way of saying "thanks for putting up with me." When we eat out as a group of friends I tip a lot, because I know we're such a pain in the bum group. Vegans, veggies, allergies... loud and obnoxious or just damn stupid. [ShardAerliss]
Hi Shard thanks for first hand information u said good thing that only tip is not enough a smile a simple word thanks boost the moral well i do that tooo and i can imagine how differnt people react and treat waiters serving them just think them as minors Take care and keep in touch [cupid74]

Hello! Yes I always give a tip when I eat out at a restaurant or hotel! But not when I am in a small cafe! I normally leave 10% on top of what was charged, I think most people expect to get a tip. If the food was cheap and was really nice I may leave more than 10% on top of the bill! [LauraT2008]
Hi Laura thanks for response well i only dont give tip at KFC, McDonald, Pizza hut etc 10% is good amount of tip take care [cupid74]

i do give tips, around 5-10%(it depends if there a service charge indicated in the reciept), it also depends of the behavior of the personel, if he/she is worthy to give a tip based on his character, accomodation, politeness and courteousness. [nicksy]
Hi dear thanks for ur response sure all the factors mentioned by u r important to decide either to pay tip or not OR if pay then how much keep it up [cupid74]

If it's a restaurant, Yes! We do give tips around 3-5%, normally in our country we don't give tips and is not really a part of our culture. When I visited the States however, the tips that we are required to give almost could provide us another day of living... [DevilHands]
Hmmmmm thanks for response yeah u r right in some area people either at hotel or cab driver, they are for TIP diffent cultures Take care [cupid74]

I always make it a point to give a tip to the waiter when I go to a restaurant. The amount depends on the kind of service that I get. If I find him polite and hardworking he will get a bigger tip but if I find him rude and lazy and not giving quick service then he may just get some change from me. [mayka123]

In reputed hotels, I think, we have to pay tip about 10% of the bill. So, in those times we do pay tips. Luckily I hardly find myself paying the bill. lol.. Otherwise in small restaurants, where I hang out with friends, I pay tips of small amounts like 20-30. The total bill never crosses 200 I guess. [mimpi1911]
Hmm, not necessary, if ur bill is 3-4000 Rs then will u give 400 for tips, Noway, the max i give is Rs 100. and if u look at proption at small hotel u might be giving 10-15% anyway if get better sevice get more, if not, i can be rude and dont pay at all LOL [cupid74]
