I've been offered a vacation, relatively free even. My niece, who is only 6 yrs younger than I, has made me an offer I can hardly refuse. She's invited both my son and I to stay with them on the Army base and just relax and enjoy. They are 2 states away, so it will really be a holiday! I'm still trying to remember what a vacation is. LOL!
I told her I wasn't sure I could do it and she said, "don't make me come and pack your clothes, you may not like what I pick out". She's right about that, as she's preppy and I'm Cowgirl Hippie Chick! heee I hate those PLAID shorts she loves! LOL! Although....with a bit of fringe and some frayed edges...couple of butterfly patches..........hhmmm..........hippie mini skirt? hee
She and her children are coming down this month and she's offered to take us back with them! How cool is that? I've been really blessed these last few days, by offers of relaxing with good friends. I've asked her how we'll get back home?
Have you ever been forced to go on a vacation, with the threat of someone coming to get you and packing for you? heee! Let's just hope that my hubs will let us go, shall we?

I would seriously be thinking of this offer. You probably need it. SO if all things are a go you should take it. Well, if they are YOUR clothesshe will be packing then I doubt you have any worries unless you have a closet full of clothes you wouldn't be caught dead in. But she migth not know your favorites or most comfortable ones so it is easyto pack your own..I am sure you would enjoy the time to relax with your feet up and have fun..But there is the worry about how your getting home..I would definitely not leave that up in the air with a we'll deal with that when the time gets here..So if you go enjoy. Heyya Irish! I think it's a great idea! You deserve a nice vacation. I was forced to fly for my first timr by mt grandmother that lived all the way across the US. We were seperated for years and when we were reunited(long story) she bought a plane ticket for me and made serious threats to me and those around me that might not have me come..lol..even my boss...she used him to buy my plane ticket with...loll she was quite the persuader when she wanted to be. I don't regret it for a minute. We had the best time. She even took me to Las Vegas where I learned she was a regular..LOL..Take care and try to go. It sounds like it will be a blast. [JenInTN]

Hey Irish! I think that is a wonderful idea and the perfect opportunity for you and the little guy to get away! I think you really need to do this! I think that it would be a great thing for you to have a change of scenery! And just think how much fun it would be for your son to be with some kids for a change in a different location! It would be great for him too! Never mind hubs! He can manage to take care of himself for a bit! He's a big boy and ya know the old saying about abscence making the heart grow fonder and stuff! Im on contract and they won't sign my contract if I don't take a mandatory time off. Which is good, but I never really take vacations. When I took vacations I usually needed another vacation after that. Are they giving you other options besides forcing you to take a vacation? Maybe a payout for your accumulation of VacaPay? I have never been forced to take a vacation. In fact I've only taken two vacations, lol. One of which was to the beach with old friends and the other was with my fiance and we stayed 12 hours and came back home. I don't think anyone could force me to go somewhere I don't want to go. I think family knows I'm a Homebody. Heck, My fiance and I are very happy to have his parents go with us on our honeymoon! [SomeCowgirl]
