Where was your favorite vacation? What made it special to you? My favorite vacations generally include going to the beach and having time to not be rushed. It doesn't really matter where I am.

the best vacation i had in my life was last year in october. my boyfriend visited me here in the philippines and we spent a week in a beach in bohol, philippines. we rented a house. it was a private beach so, it was really good. plus, i was able to cook for him. and i love it!... anne [maryannemax]
Going to Gatlinburg on Christmas Holidays. We have been going there for the past few years and enjoying the scenery even though it might be snowing and cold out there but we prefer to go during the winter. We don't go any vacation in the summer because too many people at teh beach and can't have fun and too hot. [aprilgrl]
I would say that the location of my favorite vacation was Hawaii. We stayed on Waikiki. It was my favorite place because we got to visit the U.S.S Arizona shrine. You can still see parts of it above the water and it still spits out oil even under water! [ajmccrary1986]
When I went to Italy the first time, I think it was 2000. It was so much fun, my cousin and I would go to all the shops together, and we had no idea how to even use the currency! Everything was so cheap (Lira was sooo much cheaper than the Euro) and we got some of the shopkeeper guys to give us discounts and free stuff. There was also so much history, I saw things that I've seen in my schoolbooks and art and historic buildings and landmarks.. it was so gorgeous. I went back last year, but it wasn't as special as that first time for some reason. I do wish I could relive that week all over again. [MelodyRhapsodical]
It's gotta be Naples, west coast Florida. My folks have a condo on the beach, well about 50 yards off it. In summer there's nobody there. It's like I have the place to myself. It's funny, everybody loves Florida, but up here in the Georgia mountains right now, I see nothing but Florida license tags. We love the beach. Y'all love the mountains. I like Tybee Island, Georgia too, east of Savannah. I just like the beach, the water. I love being on the water. [ORyansBelt2012]
My favorite vacation was all the trips when I was little to see the family in VA and sometimes to FL. Always had fun with my young relatives, and doing different things. [sumofalltears]
My favorite vacation place was in Camiguin Island Province here in the Phils. It was special for me back then because when we are having our family vacation there, at the same time I get to know my boyfriend very well who's with us during those time and now became my hubby...I can never forget those times of our vacation. :-) [add_im]
Hi miamilady!!! My favorite vacation is in Thailand and over some Asian countries with my family. They are so beautiful countries with lots if wonderful sight seeings and pretty but cheaper stuffs too. I had so much fun there. And it was a winderful vacation i have ever had before. [becuttieusa]

When my children were teenagers we drove from Minnesota to Illinois to 6 Flags Amusement Park. We ended up staying there for 3 days. The first day was a family day staying together etc. The 2nd day was the kids went their own way and my wife and I went our way also. The 3rd day was a family day of riding just ALL Roller Coasters. That was a hell of a day as my back killed me for weeks after. That is and was the only true "vacation" I've ever had with my wife and kids. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~ [webeishere]
It is the working vacation I take every year with my kids and hubby sort of. We head off to a big field where there is a flea market held. We sell things and earn some money and even get to shop. We have neighbors there that are friends of ours and we have a good time. We have cots and a camp kitchen to. We take a cooler and cook things and save our money for just our favorites. We are even looked for now and so that is a nice aspect of going and working our butts off on a yearly basis. We all look forward to it very much. [Willowlady]
My favorite vacation spot when I was a kid was the Ft Walton/Destin area of Florida. I've been to the Pacific coast, Atlantic coast and the Carabean but they dont compare to the beauty of the white sand and blue water of the panhandle of Florida. But, alas I have not been back in years. For that matter we have not had a vacation in over 7 years. That is a bone of contention here cause I keep telling the hubby that he needs to take time off. My favorite vacations were in the UK. I was there for the first time when I was 14, three weeks of summer holidays. I stayed in a small town near Brighton in a family. We had school in the mornings to improve our English and in the afternoons we were free to do what we want. It was a lovely time and I was so sad when I had to leave. I love Britain, I find it so beautiful and have been to other places as well, to Capernwray Hall which is an old castle, the headquarters of the Torchbearers Fellowship, I was there twice, and then in 1998 I had a beautiful round trip through the South of England. So I have seen some places already and am really impressed. I also love the British food and there are only a few exceptions of what I wouldnt try, I even enjoyed eating porridge..... lol.....and beetroots which I never ate at home. [book1962]
My favourite vacation would be one where I can idle my time away without anyone bugging and nagging after me. Like you, it can be anywhere, even in my bedroom. It need not be long, perhaps 3 days will do. However, it would be considered a favourite as long as I feel satisfied and will not regret having wasted precious time. [whyaskq]

I'm with you, it doesn't matter where we go. It's just nice to get away from the everyday things. We go camping alot to northern Manitoba. There are tons of lakes, the most in Canada, right here in my back yard. I can drive anywhere within one hour of home and be at a lake or river. We like to fish and have camp fires and just be together without any stress. It's good for my marriage. [helenfillion]
We can't really afford vacations, my husband makes barely enough to survive on.... We do short local day trips in places that I can do photography and be out of the house with the kids.... The last mini vacation was when we took the kids to a Bush series NASCAR race in Deleware, and then we drove on to see my husband's parents.....it was a lot of fun, and one would think that watching cars race around the track was boring, but it was a lot of fun...... The best one I ever had was in Hawaii. I do love to go to the coast, especially when it is very hot where I live. When it's 100 here, it is usually 70 there and just perfect. I don't even mind the coast when it's foggy. I just like it cooler. [karenssis]
About 10 years ago, 3 friends and I took a vacation to Disney World. It was my first vacation without my family, and it was so much fun. For two of the people we went with, it was their first time going to Disney, so that was really cool. And it was nice to spend time with my friends like that. [wiccania]
Honestly, I've never been on a vacation before, but if I could go on vacation, I'd want to go to Brazil. It's so beautiful. I want to go there so badly. [gradyslady]
