Yes that was a great movie. Though i am huge on action, so i can't go past the Mission Impossible's. He was also very good in War of the Worlds. [kerijate]
Did you see Mission Impossible III? If not, rent it, If you love action, you'll love it! [sarahruthbeth22]
I certainly agree with you I'm a john grisham fanatic and that movie came from one of his great novel "The firm" it was about a law stundent belongs to the top of his class and about to take the bar exam and was offered a very high payin job to a not well-known yet multi billion firm that hide a big secret to some of the lawyer. Tom Cruise was for me the only one suited to that movie he made a good role of that film and also I like Jerry Mcguirre too! [maribel1218]
I know this is an odd one, but I really liked him in Vanilla Sky. [monet0077]
I didn't see that one. Net Flix here I come. [sarahruthbeth22]
I love Tom Cruise when he played action movie in Mission:Impossible, the movie was great because of his act. In other case, I like TC also when he played such a drama movie like Jerry Maguire, The Firm, Born on 4th of July,.Especially in Jerry Maguire, he got a nomination for oscar in best actor in leading role. He played well too when he played The Firm and A Few Good Man..Do u still remember Interview with the vampire??In that movie he played with Brad Pitt, that was a cool movie. But the most unforgetable movie from him is M:Impossible...Awesome!!! [theKop]
I loved Tom in Interview With The Vampire! He was great as the "villian".I don't like horror films and I like that one. I liked Mission Impossible I. I didn't see II, but III is great. If you haven't seen it, rent it. [sarahruthbeth22]
Tom Cruise is essentially Tom Cruise in everyone of his early movies... right up to Eyes Wide Shut. They were mostly all good average movies with a large audience of teenage girls. I did not see him in anything since Eyes Wide Shut as he lost his appeal to me after he divorced Nicole Kidman. And he has continued to sink to even lower levels after his performance with Oprah. I don't think Tom Cruise will ever figure amongst the top ten actors in Hollywood. He lost the plot. To me... it is a toss up between Top Gun and A Few Good Men [Aussies2007]
I heard that it took two years to film Eyes Wide Shut. Maybe there was too much pressure. [sarahruthbeth22]
Jerry McGuire without a doubt. I love how he starts off so cool and then hits rock bottom and has to come back. In my opinion it's one of the best things he ever did. I also like him a lot in A Few Good Men, for similar reasons. [tentwo67]
I really like Tom Cruise in Minority Report, Mission Impossible I, and Vanilla Sky. I can't decide which one was best out of those three. He was very well cast in all three roles and did a great job with them. Those are movies I can watch over and over again. [chadd_atl]
Being a movie fan, I have seen my share of Tom Cruise movies. In fact, except for an exception of one or two, I could safely say, I've seen most of his movies. Thinking about it, it would be hard for me to limit myself to one favorite Tom Cruise role. The first thing that came to mine is Jerry Maguire, the sports agent who developed a conscience in that greedy world of sports advertising. I also love his performance in A Few Good Men. Great lines, wonderful cast and he looks gorgeous in those militiary uniforms. Another notable movie was The Last Samurai, as he portrays how a worthy cause can transform a man into a noble creature. Most of his movies are pretty decent (ex. War of the Worlds), mostly entertaining (ex. Mission Impossible)and a few almost thought provoking (ex. The Minority Report, Eyes Wide Shut). Furthermore, it does not hurt that he has a pretty face that we can enjoy onscreen. In that light, I think, he looked the best in Top Gun, with his crew cut hairstyle, in jeans and T-shirt and his aviator sunglasses. He was a dish in that movie. Overall, he is just another solid Hollywood actor that has produced some movies that we have watched and enjoyed. [wayz12]
Yep! I guess we will never forget his little dancing scene. [wayz12]
i agree with most of the answers here, Cruise was good in Jerry Maguire. i watched the movie 3 times and he made me move. he's also good in The Last Samurai and War of the Worlds. although i didn't like the movie War of the Worlds because of the robotic type of creature they put in there but Cruise indeed effectively portrayed his role. And of course almost everyone would give him credit in his Mission Impossible series. i personally liked the 3rd one. [chocobaby]
Mission Impossible III was great.I haven't seen Mission Impossible II yet. But I liked Mission Impossible I too. [sarahruthbeth22]
I don't really consider myself a big fan but I have seen most of his movies. He just seems to make great movies. Some of my favorite Cruise movies are of course the Mission Impossible trilogy, Rain Man, Minority Report, Cocktail, Jerry Maguire and of course The Outsiders. I also really enjoyed All The Right Moves and Far and Away. But I think his best performance was in The Last Samurai. I just loved that movie and I thought he did a terrific job portraying the changes that his character went through. Simply a brilliant movie with superb acting. [sunnypub]
Oh another good actor that I've liked in many films. I've liked him in movies since I saw Legend, boy was that a long time ago :) I'm really torn in this because I loved The Firm, A Few Good Men and Mission Impossible. All three would be in the top three with him and choosing one amongst them isn't that easy. At this moment I'm going to go with A Few Good Men. I watch that one the most out of those three. [emeraldisle]
mine is Top Gun, he is very handsome there and very young, and the story is really nice. [grecychunny26]
i like tom cruise' role in "Born of the Fourth of July".... you should try to watch that movie... i bet he'll get you carried away.. i love that movie:) [artist_lateralus18]
It does not appeal to to me tanto.credo rain man, or the color of the moneies.... [miryam]
In my opinion, Tom Cruise is at its best at the movie the Interview with the Vampire. He is sort of a villain vampire here, and I really like his performance here. Also, I love his performance in a Few Good Man. Such a good performance also. I find the Vanilla Sky a little okay but his performance in Vanilla sky is also great. I don't understand why acting awards elude tom cruise. [ernst111]
He was deliciously evil in Interview With The Vampire. He came close to winning the Oscar for Born On the Fourth Of July. But that was the year Daniel Day Lewis won for My Left Foot. Then there was Jerry Maguire, but he lost to Geoffrey Rush in Shine. And the year he was nominated for Magnolia, Michael Caine won for Cider House Rules. Not only do you have to have an award winning role but you have to have good timing. [sarahruthbeth22]
His role in Jerry Maguire. It's light, simple and yet got s*x appeal. ayayayyy!! (",) [anjoks]
I thought he was great in Rain Man, also in jerry MacGuire [tallpaulno44a]
