Today, we have many ways to move people and things around. There are cars, boats, planes, and trains. There are big trucks. Well, as we know all, these are all forms of transportation. These of course make our life alot easier when we need to go on to another place. Long ago, people had to walk to get where they wanted to go. Then someone tamed horse, and that's where the ideas started to grow having all these forms now.
I prefer to use my car because it's alot easier and comfortable. I don't know much about driving but I am practicing right now since last month. I hope soon I could drive by myself. We're having global financial crisis right now and it affects the cost of traveling, too.
SO guys, what do you prefer among these transportations? or do you go on by foot?

I prefer the old fashioned way by foot. If I have to go over 5 miles I may take a car. Also if I have a lot of packages I will take the car. If I am traveling within the country but to another state. I like to take the train. If I am traveling outside the country I fly. But I may consider taking a boat next time. [moneymommy]

If roads are good( in India the highways are getting in shape only now,I mean four-laning)then car is the best option. Because it gives you the freedom of movement at your pleasure otherwise trains are the second best option.The air travel is a option but not the one many Indians opt for because of its price factor.Almost the entire middle-class in India owns a four-wheeler and car at ones' disposal gives you the time at the place of visit and also saves lot of money you would end up spending on hired transport. I largely depends on the distance I have to cover. I love going to places on my bike but once the distance to be covered is more then 100 miles it is a bit tiring. I usually don't drive my way in car if the distance is more then 200 miles. On larger journeys you bound to get bored if you do the riding or driving so for them I use public transport like buses and trains. [coolmailpankaj]

First of all its depend upon the distance that.. how much we have to travel. if of we have to travel more then 1000 miles then there are only teo option train or plane.. As today secnario.. as recession is going on.. I will always prefer trveling in train only.. as i am india.. train fair are very low then even bus.. and plane also.. So always prefer train.. thanks for the compliment njc2009.. Here in the Philippines, we used trains to avoid traffic. Trains and buses here are almost the same in terms of fare. Just that when you want to avoid heavy traffic, better to use a train... :D [yina24]
I prefer to have some control over when/where I go so public transportation isn't really for me...even planes or trains. It also depends on where I'm going and the weather. For most trips I prefer taking one of our vehicles but, if we just want to take a ride and it's a nice day, my husband and I take one of the motorcycles. [spalladino]
cool~~~ motorcycles!! I haven't tried... but since it's a way lot cheaper than buying a car, that's why most people in here tend to buy a motorcycle than a car. They can go a way easier, avoid heavy traffic because they can easily go in between. :) [yina24]
right now it's just too cold to go anywhere but in a car. but once it gets a little bit warmer I love to just walk around. if i need to get somewhere fast I ride my bike, but most of the time I take my time to enjoy my city, and just walk to my friends house or walk to a park with friends. My preferred mode of transportation depends upon the place I am going to. If I am going to any of the rural parts of India I really like to take the train, because it provides you with excellent view of the fields, farmers farming their fields, etc.You never get to see these things in a busy city life. If I am travelling to a place in my neighbourhood here in delhi, i.e. around 5-10 kms, I like to take my car along, as it is really convenient and comfortable,especially when I am travelling with my family members. If I am travelling alone to a far off place, I like to use public transport like bus/metro train because it saves your fuel and the energy required to drive through the busy and noisy city traffic, which can be really tiring and frustrating. I also like to walk so I do not take any transport if I am going to a place within 2-3 km radius. [jshekhar]

My favourite method of transportation would have to be a plane/private jet because while your flying in the sky you can see marvelous things and you can go to anywhere in the world alot faster than any of mode. [walshey66]

I never traveled any where far by boat, I would have to go with the car or the train on a scenic route. The bus is the least only because I would prefer more comfortability on the bus the last time I traveled by bus long distant I couldn't sleep around all of those strangers. The plane is all right for the fastest way but you don;t see anything but clouds in the sky if your not sitting by the window until it gets boring looking out of them. [sahmof2]

it depends. well for me, i prefer the plane whenever i travel alone. it's just pointless to wanting to delay your travel if you're all by yourself right? you'll pretty much get bored in no time. but given the situation that i'm with my friends, family or anyone special, i would prefer to travel by water. in that case, i would get to have more than enough time to bond and savor the moment i have with them. but hey! nothing beats a road trip still!! it even delays the travel more! ^__^ [nicecedron]

It all depends. For short travels to towns around, I would take buses or trains. But for long travels, my choice is the plane. I am usually sick on ships, so I rarely take ships. To promote travels, we have several bus centers in this city, where we can go to over ten destinations. And the schedule is flexible at short intervals according to the passenger load. On fine days, we would just go there to randomly pick up a bus and enjoy the fresh air and green views in the surburbs. Once or twice a year, I would arrange a long travel either to scenic spots to historic spots to have some relaxation, and every other year, maybe overseas to see a bit of the other people and cultures. I am very comfortable and feel much convenience to commute LRT(Light Rail Train) from my place to City Center. At the same time doing some walking exercise from LRT station to any short walking distance places that I wish to go. I know, there are many problems especially about uncertainty on weather condition but what I want to emphasize is I love using LRT., a family of train mode of transportation. As my age growing younger(ha ha ha!) now I am 48 years old, I need to spare more time on doing medicine walking to improve my stamina while performing self-testing my physical fitness. Have to be that way and no compromise for my health condition, to face my new life in 2010. [michaeldadona]

I prefer car because seems more convenient. I sometimes bike because I need the exercise. If there was water everywhere I would swim. I love swimming and it would be pretty awesome if we could swim everywhere. Well swimming across the ocean maybe too much to handle lol. Anyways I take the bus sometimes it just takes twice as long as a car drive but its more cheaper. Gas prices are probably gonna rise soon. I would like to try riding a horse. But by the looks of it, it looks like it hurts between your legs lol. Car is all I need. You are in control and comfortable and can go anywhere you desire. [gamingworld]

I like to drive. I like driving and I like being in control. I don't like flying because of that same reason, I am not in control. I don't mind riding my bike or walking either but personally being able to drive and use my own car is my number one way of traveling. happy [mscott]

I would like to travel by car, it is comfortable, the price is high than travel by train. But train is always overload in China. Plane is too expensive for most of us. [pengbubu]
really? well, my husband was been there in China year 2005.. He told me of the trains there. That people need to use a smart card in order to pay for their rides. Here are my choices based on your original question. #1 Choice Car ~ It makes me feel that I'm in control of when I am driving. And I so enjoy taking pictures, when I'm the passenger. #2 Choice Bus ~ And I so enjoy taking pictures, when I'm the passenger, I just don't like some of the bus driver's stops. #3 Choice Train ~ Not enough city scenery for me. A bit of country scenery though. #4 Choice Plane ~ I've flown a couple of times. Never liked it either time. I'm not afraid of them, just don't like them. There are beautiful views from the planes, but it still doesn't compared to what up close ones that I can get from being on the group and closer to civilization. Least favorite Some Other Way, I haven't tried by boat yet, but I suspect I'd only get to see a lot of water. The other way I can think of right now is by foot, and who would want to travel any long distance on foot. Although when I was younger, I walked for approximately 8 miles. Granted it was in a city, that I could have easily taken the bus, but I was new the area, and I so enjoy getting out and about and most of all being around people. [hdjohnson]

My favorite way to travel is by train. I like to look out of the window in the day time to see the passing scenery. In the night time I feel relaxed and happy if I sleep in a comfortable compartment. Luckily many of the countries in the world have superb train systems however some countries have got rid of some of their train routes which I think is a shame. I have traveled on trains in Europe, the USA, Malaysia, Kenya, Australia and New Zealand. My alternative to the train is the bus if the train isn't available. Planes can get far away quickly and ferries can be useful sometimes. I enjoy walking and I used to do much cycling. [maximax8]

Right now, yina24...my favourite way to travel...is the cheapest way! And that is on my E-bike.....For 27cents worth of Hydro...I can travel 100 kilometres (60miles)and that will take me nearly everywhere I need to go! Parking is easy to find..and it can carry up to 250 pounds, so with the carrier, and a back-pack I can gather 90% of my needs! The only downside is that I cannot take my darling "doggies" with me! in our country ,we usually go by bike or bus,or by foot in a shot distance.if we travel within the country but to another province,we usually by train or coach.of course we can choose plane,but it is too expensive without budget fareair ticket.i went home by train during college's summer and winter breaks.because it's cheap,only need about RMB 100,but it's need about RMB1500 if i go by plane.i can't afford it when i was a student.and of course it takes nealy 40 hours by train,but only 4 hours by plane.this is money's charm. I like MTR,it's a type of train runs underground, It's faster than bus or car and it's very convenient too. And I like car too but I probably have car allergic, once I sit in the car, I fall asleep... [mermaidivy]

happyWell as for me, I am practicing on getting my driver's license. I am past overdue of it. I don't have a car of my own.. As of now, I just ride along with my mate. He takes me everywhere that I need to go. I have rode the city bus many times throughout the years. The last time that I was on one would be back in August of last year. I'd rather ride in a car because I am able to have room for my bags when I go shopping. Riding a bus, you are limited to the amount of bags that you can carry back on the bus. When they let you off at your destination point, you will have to walk with all the bags that you have to carry back home. With a car, it is very different. You can have as many bags that you have the room for. I don't like to ride on planes.. They just seem to crash too much for me. I will pass on that option. I would love to ride the train if I was in the city.. I think that would be really fun! But, I mainly prefer a car..happy [cream97]

We use some sort of mass transport here named an FX, which is named after the vehicle Tamaraw FX. FXes are part-taxi, part-mass transport that carries ten people [including the driver] on one trip and has an AC in it. I use it--or chase after it--when I go to school everyday. [chance2691]

I love driving. I can listen to my music, be independent, roll the windows down and go wherever I want. So it is probably my car, but for a while it was not. When I totaled my car on the way home from college once, I flipped it upside down when I was going around a ramp but miraclously I was okay. For a while I was scared out of my mind to drive. But, I am pretty much over my fear and I love driving. The month without a car was enough to make me miss driving around! [mmiceli]
