I have several things in mind which makes me excite to travel.
Its funny, first thing in my mind is all about the "FOOD"of my destination.I always want to know what's the best food in that country/place i'm visiting.happy
I'd like to try their special cuisine and what their specialty.Second,visiting their famous scenery and taking some photo for remembrance.And lastly its about shopping comparing things and prices from where I came from.

hey nice I like also the food of the new places but also the way of the people thing and the new landscapes. there is one other small detail i love to see is the position of the sun/moon in the sky is something interesting and magical sometimes. most of the people dont notice because they might be use to that but well to mee is pretty interesting i think that how the sun shine in the sky affects a bit the way of thinking and behavior of the people [maikeruk]

I'm a worrier. So I tend to worry about all the little things. Did I bring the sunscreen? Did I bring my toothbrush? Did I bring the headache medicine? Did I bring enough underwear? Where will we stay tonight? Where will we eat? Will we make it here on time? Agh!!! It makes traveling not as much fun when I'm always worrying. Luckily once things get going and I find myself out having fun, I stop worrying and even stop thinking. As you mention it, I do think about food a lot too. I like to try new foods so traveling gives me the opportunity to eat out a lot! I'm traveling next weekend for my birthday. And I think the thing that has me most excited about it is just going somewhere new and different! Plus my love is taking me so it'll be fun and hopefully relaxing... if I can stop worrying about the sunscreen that is ;p [kedralynn]

When we travel, we are usually going to something at the end of it - a play at the theatre or some kind of event, so I am usually excited about that. Last year, I went to London a few times to see plays and musicals. We also went to the World Gymnastics Championships in London last year and the European Gymnastics Championships in Birmingham this year. I do love taking photos wherever we go too, but don't do much shopping. [karen1969]
London is great for shopping, but you need a LOT of money (which I don't have) and the crowds are very bad (which I hate)!! [karen1969]
We often travel during summer season as long as my parents aren't busy and when we are done with our final exams in school. As long as we have the time. I love traveling a lot and most of the time I'm always been excited on how beautiful the place in our destination. well, I'm a nature lover and I do appreciate almost everything nice that I see. Same as you I'm also happy and excited to try new thing like the delicacies and specialties in the place that I'm going, I call it the food trip. It's been so nice to know something new to a place and I do try knowing some words of the dialect in that place like how will you say good morning in your dialect. and finally, It's been a good thing to remember things with pictures being taken on every site that we went to. Hi Cloud! I do not do much long distance traveling anymore but do go on bus trips to different parts of Thailand. I love the different foods and unique scenery. It seems as everyplace go has its hidden and non-tourist wonderful place to explore! And of course, most of importantly is meeting new people. Where ever you go don't worry about forgetting your toothbrush or favorite shirt, etc. Just bring your smile and that will bring you everything you need! [richnai]

you are absolutely right. Food is the major one without which we cannot live. So I do worry about the food habits of the people where I'm to visit. I also love to taste the local special dishes. The other one would be the weather of the place. I would be very happy if the place was a cooler one. I would really enjoy the weather.I would not even wear a jacket..Then comes my favourite activity - shopping...I would love to shop more at the place. I seldom travel. I can only travel my eyes to lifestyle network channel and food network. they have this kind of program that they got to travel to different parts of the world to taste different kind of foods. I only can visit some places when the company have an outing. I can only travel by watching Balikbayan a show in QTV channel 11, I hardly travel, I am a loser. lol [grecychunny26]

I dont travel that often.. Maybe once or twice a month but for important reasons. When I travel, I see to it that I brought every important thing with me, and I bring a camera with me, but also make sure that no there is no excess baggage because I like to travel light. Whenever I travel to a place for the first time or travel there rarely, I get so excited. Im excited to see what the place really looks like or excited to see the improvements of a place. [kharlav]
Oh FOOD! Yes, that's first on my mind too LOL…wherever I travel, I just have to try the local cuisine. My hubby's not so adventurous but my son is always on my side. Travel is always exciting but with things becoming more and more expensive, we're travelling less and less as we don't want to compromise on the places we stay. October is our favourite month for travelling and even this year, I've planned a week long visit to the hilly regions…last time we went there, I missed out on quite a few places specializing in some more local food so this time, I'm determined to try those out though hubby's equally sure that we'd all suffer from stomach upset. I love traveling though it's been almost a year since I went abroad. I love soaking up new cultures, seeing the locals and what they do for leisure. I love watching the sun set and it amazes me how it is actually different in different places. I like to check out the sights, though I prefer to go off the beaten track and see things other tourists might not. I even get excited about getting on the plane, train, rickshaw or whatever my method of transport is. I love to travel and enjoy the planning of the itinerary too. The photos are fun too and I was lucky to capture some memorable shots while traveling- one of which ended up being used for a book cover! [creative_genius]
Hiya cloud, I enjoy taking photos wherever I go . I sometime have these transferred to black and white . You be amazed at the difference. Some if the most well known Photography known to man is done in black and white as opposed to color. The face of an old man, A child playing on the beach.. I actually have done this with a photo of my daughter and it was awesome. The color showed only the background and beach more than her. But when I had it re-done it black and white I saw her, and her emotions at the time more clearly. I was backing away at the time trying to get a good shot, her coming out of the ocean and not only did I see her face excelerated from the experience and running in the sand towards me, but also my own footprints from her to me. Most of my trips in the past decade have been about visiting family and friends and less about the place, culture, food...etc. I've been everywhere I'm going this summer (Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, Texas, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and I think I missed a couple of places...), so it's all about the reasons I'm going...a family reunion, a family birthday party, a family wedding, two more birthday parties...taking my grand nieces on their first trip with their great grandmother. I hardly ever travel. Its not something that I have the luxury of doing very often. I would like to much more thow. My money is much tighter right now, so all of the things that you mentioned I would not be able to spend as freely and I prefer to vacation when I can. [ladygator]
Well,first thing i pack when i had to travel or plan to travel is my camera. It is a must for me. Taking pictures of every places and scenery is one of my passion. I always had this thought in mind that,it could be my first and last visit to a particular place,so,i always took pictures here and there. I want to have souvenirs,of any kind,as a token memory. in my younger days, travels are always exciting and i have a lot of expectation. but after a while, and having gone far and wide, travel has become more of a routine, even an obligation. besides, i don't travel to shop or buy things. even before, i just plunk in into a duty free shop when i arrive home and buy things there... it's really difficult to carry a lot of baggage... I will be traveling to Australia on 29th May and am so excited about this trip. I am anxious to feel the weather and to go for a long drive there to see places of interest. I'm not adventurous when it comes to eating, so i don't really want to try eating native delicacies of the places i go to. more than thinking about food, i'm usually excited about the sceneries and how beautiful our destination would be. what tourists spots can we visit there and how would they fair with the other similar places i've been to (i.e. comparing beaches). the more green or the more blue i see, the better. i just love nature so much. thinking how much fresher the air could be there almost wanted me to stay longer even though i'm still here. ^_^ this time however, i can't get excited about our trip to Cebu this coming june because i'm still short of travel allowance. ahahahah... i don't where and when i could get enough money, i have only two weeks left.^_^ [blue_thr3e]

hi cloud I am partly handicapped and on a very small budget so have not done much traveling lately. when I did it was the food, the coast, the people , and customs, the shops and stores too. Since I always loved mexican food the tacos and enchiladas were thrilling to me and being in bahja California was a lot of fun too. the street children selling vases of paper flowers and all sorts of food stuff,. this trip I really enjoyed.hugshugs [Hatley]
The things I look forward to in a place when I travel is the view itself. I am a nature lover and sometimes when I find my favorite spot, I stay there to take it all in for a few minutes or so. I love to take pictures and maybe one day, learn Photography with nature as my main subject. I also look forward to the different cuisine that the place has to offer. I love trying on new things and food tasting is always on my to-do list when I travel. There are two parts of a journey to a particular destination where we go for the first time. First is journey itself. Cleanliness in the train and behavior of fellow passengers count a lot besides foods being served by the catering. I generally carry books/magazines to spend my time. However, excitement starts mounting as I reach the destination place. Generally, I try not to stay with any relative or friend. I want full freedom. So I find a good hotel having a clean and good room. Cleanliness in toilet is another factor. I talk to Manager of the hotel and waiters to find scenic and exciting places where I go with my camera to capture beautiful photographs. I also carry CD of the camera so that I could download the photos in a computer and send them to my e-mail address or prepare a CD. Journeys are always exciting providing you have planned it properly. You would get disappointed if you plan to stay with somebody other than your closest who also enjoy your company. Bon Voyage. What makes me really excited to travel is the place that I'm going to visit. I'm excited to see if it's beautiful and if there's anything interesting or unique in that place. Traveling may be exciting for everyone. Whether traveling is for fun, leisure, business or knowledge a lot of planning goes into making it a fun, an enjoyable experience and eventually a success. With such a well-planned travel sometimes success is no guarantee. Traveling without much planning would leave everything to chances. And it can be a frustrating experience to go through. I travel a lot. When I do I try to plan as well as possible. Planning can sometimes start months ahead from the flight itinerary to places to stay and eat, places to visit and depending on the travel what to do as well. With that we should only bring what is necessary so that we are not overloaded with things to bring along. [tomitomi]
Usually I borrow some travel guide books from my local library. Then I can decide where I will travel to. When I have chosen where to go I buy a travel guide book for that destination. I go traveling overseas at least once a year. On a very good year I go abroad three times. I booked a flight to Halifax in Canada and then it got canceled. I was relieved to get a refund from that. I booked a flight to Vancouver and I do hope my trip will go ahead. I am worried because the airline has been having strikes. In addition some planes haven't been able to fly to to volcanic ash. I am always worried about food while traveling. I am in Chicago and there are few options to go for Indian food. I am lucky that I found 2 Indisn food corners where I can eat food of my choice like home. Another thing comes in my mind about travel is the people of the destination place, will they co-operate with me. They might dislike me and in that case it would be difficult for me to stay longer. People in chicago are very good and helping. In office and the hotel, both places there are very good peoples so I am enjoying my stay here. [AjaySinghBaghel]

Having my two children, we don't get to travel nearly as often as I would like to and when we do have the opportunity to travel it typically isn't for a long distance because that kind of travel with them isn't exactly pleasant. Some of the things that I do look forward to when we have the opportunity to travel are the scenery. I love the fact that there are different landmarks everywhere that you go. I love traveling, especially long road trips. I just get excited about seeing new places, people and things. It's also great to stop at all kinds of different places to eat along the way. When we drive back to Texas from Illinois (every summer), we know we are getting closer to home when we start seeing Wafflehouse signs. I like to see new places. I also like to visit my friends or relatives when I get there, and also to see the sights. I do love to go to new restaurants, but I have not done much travel lately because of my husband's illness. Most of the time, I am interested in the scenery and since I love to cook, I like to try out the best places to eat - not the tourist traps, but where one can eat good food that is not that expensive. We used to travel once a year to Saskatchewan where my husband's family lived and once in a while to Vancouver where my brother lived and some of my husband's family also lived. First of all, I will make sure that the tickets are in tact and ready at hand and the next is that my cameras digi and movie cams are equipped with necessary accessories. Always travel is a mixed feelings mainly excitement. Because a long distance travel is more thoughtful and making always uncertainty. Proper packing and preserved foods are also be preferred. The main problem that I have faced ever is that lots of things will forget because I will start packing at the last moment only. I often travel as part of my work. But the thing that gets me excited about the travel is getting away from home. It is so hectic at home with the kids, and the chores that needs to be done that it is most of the time more relaxing for me if I travel. Just last week, I was on the east coast for 5 days to visit a supplier. It was so nice to do work for a few hours, and get back to the hotel whenever I can. I did not have to worry about tidying up the sheets or anything. Everytime I got back, the room was clean and fresh. At nights, I could just watch TV, or a movie, or go to the indoor pool. I also had a car so I was able to visit some old friends. And eat at some good restaurants.niceday [bounce58]
I really can not travel abroad because I don't have money sad. Our family usually make short distance travel just to change situation, look for beautiful view and new tasty food w00t. Our favorite is go to natural hot spring water, there you can see beatiful view surround you while you enjoy the hot water, its will take the strees and tiredness away wub. [nangisha]
