Whats The Cheapest Vacation Youve Ever Taken How Much Did It Cost

The last vacation, that I took didn't cost much at all. In fact, it cost just the price of hotel and gas for the car. About ten years ago, we were forced to evacuate for a hurricane. And, we're lucky to have gotten out alive. We drove up the coast to a small town in another state and spent a few days there, until the hurricane passed. It was really like a mini vacation that ended up costing us less than $100. Funny how situations like that are more memorable than planned vacations. It wasn't stressful at all. What's the cheapest vacation that you've ever taken? Do you think that spur of the moment day trips are better than the bigger and most expensive trips?

The last trip I have taken was a ride with my mother to visit my aunt in Atlana Georiga to get away from a hurricane here in Florida. My home was fine but the man across the road had a huge tree hit the front of his home. Just the front porch. He was lucky that it didn't go threw the rest of his house. I was really happy and thankful that this house was fine. [Shaun72]
Thank you I felt very happy and greatful. [Shaun72]

I'd say a trip we took to Table Rock Lake in Arkansas. We lived in Kansas City, and drove down. It was the very last week of the off season for the resorts, and got a one bedroom cabin for very cheap. It had a kitchen, and a BBQ grill, so we cooked all of our own meals. It was one of the best vacations we ever took. [Katesmama]
That's so cool! [beautyqueen26]

Went to Hongkong and spent $500 only! How cool is that!? :D [everafter]
That's a real deal! [beautyqueen26]

Hi There! Well, the cheapest vacation we ever went to was last month. We went to a swimming pool resort in one of the nearest province in our city. It is like 45 minutes drive. We just took the Bus since there were only five of us... We had some foods that we grilled there etc... So far that was the cheapest vacation since it is just near the city... Cheers! [jesbellaine]
That sounds fun! [beautyqueen26]

Hi beta you have done a nice job. After retirement I am enjoying vacation 365 days an year. So no more vacation trips. I go to visit my daughters place and my elder son's place of work every alternate month. We I mean me and my wife travel by our car, it may be costly but looks cheap to us as parents. Blessings. We just go home when we go on vacations for now. We have to drive 1100+ miles to get there, so the gas and two nights in a hotel (one night each way) add up to around $500 or so with the price of gas now! We then just stay at my parents' house while we are there, so that saves a lot of money. We usually eat there, too, so we just have to buy a few groceries, instead of eating out all the time. We haven't really done any local weekend trips or anything like that since we moved up here. We've thought about it, but we've decided Elliott is still a little too young. [carlaabt]
It is true, holidaying with little ones can be more work than being at home! This is why with four young ones we just manage to go once a year - it is so worth it for the memories though. If you can stay with people that you know it does save you alot of money - got to love family! [madebyrobyn]

It would have to be my honeymoon. We got $100 for a gift from my husband's parents and we used that to go up to Minnesota. We went to a little old historic town and checked out a cave. We ordered a pizza to our hotel room. It was great. That is how I will never forget when Princess Diana died. We were in our hotel room and turned on the tv and it was all over the news. [Ruthep]

As I have a fairly large family we always look to take cheaper vacations, at least once a year to keep our sanity! Usually it would be a camping trip to our favourite camping grounds about 3 hours drive away. We go bushwalking and swimming and even possum 'hunting' at night (involves finding the possums in the trees with flash lights). The kids really love it and including petrol costs, food costs and camping ground fees we have a weeks holiday for six for just under $500 which I think is really good. Oh there is running water, toilets and hot showers as well - very important to me! I feel that I am already roughing it by sleeping in a tent! [madebyrobyn]

The cheapest vacation i have been on would be me and my husbane going to visit his family in Melbourne. We would put the fuel money in the car which would be about $170 there and the same back. Snacks and drinks for on the way there would be about $6,$7. Then we would stay in a motel when we get there which the hubby's parents would pay for. we would eat at there house with them so it is heaps cheap. [beaniebabe]

Catching up with mylot and getting back in to it... vacation?? what the heck is a vacation?? The closest my daughters and I have had for the past 4 years is a week of family camp at the local Bible camp. It's still great to get away, but I want a real vacation...to take them someplace special. I have a goal with one website that I am doing that once I earn enough for the laptop that I want then I am going to start saving for vacation, and my hope is to rent a cabin in Colorado somewhere for a few days.
