I think it would be impossible for us to leave our cat in an animal pension or something like that when we have to travel.
We always try to choose hotels or bed and breakfast which accept the presence of little animals and our cat comes with us, always, it is very important for us, a real holiday is with our dear friend Ashen (the cat).
Also when we were in honeymoon we took him with us.
Just when we had to go for a short holiday abroad we left the cat to my mother-in-law, who loves cats, and who has another one herself. So when she goes abroad we take care of her cat at our house.

This is our first year with a cat,and we were asking ourselves this question the other night. We have a caravan,so we will take him with us on a caravan holiday, When we go abroad,we will put him into a boarding place. We havent got anyone who we really trust to look after him. I think he will miss us,as he even sleeps in our bed. I will probably spend the whole time worrying about him, [jimbo45]
Our vacations is always at home we would have to hire a sitter for our cats we couldn't afford to go anywhere with all of our cats. We have 20-25 of them and they are our babies so we couldn't afford to go anywhere. Besides we love being at home. We could go for the day but by night fall we would want to be at home with them. But it is real nice that you take your cat on vacation with you. [bwrattybaby]
Are your cats out doors or inside? [teapotmommommerced]
We took our cat camping with us a couple of times but she learned how to unzip the tent and get out of ours and into other people's*L* Then we got a popup and she learned how to get out of that too and when she was ready to come back in she would stand outside and cry really loudly for us to let her in. One night we decided ok she isn't waking us up again so put her in a harness and tied her leash to a cupboard. Sure enough that night we were woken up to her loud crying outside. The harness and the leash were still attached to the cupboard. We still have no clue how she pulled that one off. So then she had to start staying home but would be very mad when we got back. Well I don't have any pets. But if I did I would like them to be with me as they would be apart of the family. I go on holiday to the seaside here as I have all my life with my parents, if I had a pet it wouldn't be a questions. ~Joey [joey_matthews]
I have to many cats to be taken on a trip so I have one of my friends come and stay at our house to take care of my pets, she does a real good job, plus cleans and she calls me daily to let me know how everything is going. [bsankow]
I recently went on vacation to my older sisters home and we drove to my twin siters home which was an 12 hour treck. We took her rabbit, he has a cage and a potty box. He got a little anxious and we had herbal antiaxiety meds to give him. Macky bunny did fine. When we got to my sisters home we let him out in one bedroom and he loved it. Macky bunny jumps on the beds and sleeps with you he is like a cat. [teapotmommommerced]
What I would do is leave them home and ask a responsible friend or relative to check on them and make shure they have fresh food and water, and a clean litter box. I think the pounds are too expensive and not necessary. [magikrose]
i do not have a cat but if i do have one...i will certainly love to tag it along with me when i am on vacation...since i live alone in the apertment and no one will take care of her so i would definitely bring her with me...since cats does not require much attention and they are so lovable and huggable and very playful and they act as guardian when your sleeping...there is even a tale that cats fights the evil demons that wanted to take the soul of its sleeping master. so it is really nice to have them around all the time. If I had one yes I would propably [rainbow2007star]
wow i think that's cool, bringing along your cat whenever you travel. i've never done that, back when the days i had cats. whenever we go anywhere, we'll just leave our cats at home. i used to have lots of cats, but eventually they died T_T ..now i'm not allowed to have anymore cats, ever since we moved to our new place huhu..:( [kevsgirlalways]
I can't imagine taking cats during vacation as I hat pets. [gloria777]
sorry,we don't have cats at home..more on dogs..if we'll have one,i'd like it to be a white cat.. [nzl_21]
If i want to travel , i do not leave my cat for alone, i will take her to my friend , ask my friend to take care for her , or i will take her to the hotel ! And i would like her are well! [wangchunxia]
Hi,opinione! I have never taken my cat with me when I go out for my vacation.Mostly,my cat is taken care by my grandparents or my friends.I cannot leave she at home alone so that I have to send her to my grandparents' house. [shinjiao]
When we go on holiday our cats normally go to the vets, as he has a hotel for cats!!, They quite enjoy it there as they have a huge room filled with toys and climbing objects and theres a large cubicle for each cat that stays there. Obviously we feel guilty about leaving them there when we travel, but taking them with us is out of the question, as most of our holidays involve a 4 hour plane ride to the UK to visit family. When we go away, we leave the three cats at home. Cats are pretty easy to take care of. We pay a friend to come onver once per day for water, food and clean litter. We do board our dog - harder to care for, would need to go out more than once per day. We have friends that always take their dog on vacation with them. [djbtol]
I never take my cats with us or any of our animals when we go away . It would just simply be too hard and there is always someone I can find to take care of our pets while we are away . My husband's stepmother always watches our animals for us when we go away and we do the same for them when they go away each summer . I don't think there is any place that you would be allowed to take your pet in if you were to spend the night around here . There is a ban on most pets being brought into public places because of others who suffer from allergies . [samtaylorskykierajen]
I feel that we should take cats or any other pets with us..It becomes our family member and therefore it would be lonely without a family member... [paradise12]
If you keep the cat in the house who will give milk, and chapati, and cat want to eat.Other animal will give trouble.who will take care for her.Better cat will with you. [azimsay]
No. None of my pets like traveling, so I leave them at home. They're happier there then if they were traveling in a car or airplane. [purple29penguin]
We never took our cats with us. They never travelled well. We either hired a pet sitter service to come in at least once a day or had a friend come over at least once a day, since I also have fish that need fed. We also had them get our mail and such. We usually took our dog, but never the cat. [lisado]
Good point, if someone like cats das that mean someone have to love cats, i like cats too, [amjada]
NO buy it´s a good idea, I levea them with a parent always [jahvo6]
I traveled with seven cats at one time. I had to sneak them into a truck-stop motel one-by-one. The cats really enjoyed the trip. [Rosepetal]
We are going on vacation but we are leaving our cats at home. I would take them but my mother-in-law is going with us and she has a little dog which is staying home but she would want to bring her dog with if we brought the cats with us. [gberlin]
