When I was a high school student ,I have a big learning tasks so I couldn't do part-time jobs in my summer vacation,MY mum prefer me to study at home rather than going out and doing jobs.BUT when I'm in college ,I do it every summer,last summer,I was attending the "China JOY "IN Shanghai as a cosplay performer.And I HAVE been a promotion specialist in the summer 2 year ago!

its not easy to find summer jobs in my country unless you find a friend who knows someone who can assist you to secure one..anyway i do much of data entry and networking at a call care centre..its partime when im in college and fulltime at summer. [deewinc]

I am no longer student but as far as i remember i did a job for summer vacation when i am still in school. I worked as a secretary this is my very first work. My day to day works were filing, accepting calls, doing some paper works, data encoding. I just get less earnings there but its a memorable one for me because as i said its my first job. I just stayed there for a month then start my studies again. [kmaram]

I have worked with a lawyer for my first year of university's holidays and I quite enjoyed that a lot, I think we are able to learn much more when we use our holidays intelligently and wisely so working in holidays is something fruitful for me and when we are paid also I am very happy. Now I work in a different company full time and I also study so I find that the experience I got was indeed very good to me atleast I am not new to the job market. [med889]
Hi, windflower. It seems you've started a bunch of discussion. Anyway, I like them. When I was a college student, I often took part-time jobs in vacations, including teaching and translating. I taught at my middle school for the whole summer vacation, and of course earned a lot. That was the first time that I earned that amount of money by myself.lol Greatly encouraged, I did part-time jobs every vacation after that. The second time was working as a translator for my brother's tourist company. My job was to show foreign tourists around and explain to them various things. Different from the first time, this time was rewardless. Anyhow, I liked it much. Now, since I've already worked, I don't think I'll take a part-time job any more. After about 4 months' tiring work, what I want to do most in the coming vacation is to relax and forget about work. It's almost the time for the end of this semester. Thanks to your response!I love your experience about part-time jobs,I was trying to find a job like the translating,but,you know,Searching a job what you like and getting pay from it ,is not so easy.Many imformation on the internet are totally a lie.I never thought about to be a teacher,because I think they are always need to repeat the lessons,but I like the nwe things. Neverthless,The best thing to be a teacher is having the summer and winter vacations!There is no other career as a teacher,have such a long holiday,I think. Happy in your summer vacation,my friend! When I was a nursing student I worked in couple of different nursing homes during the holidays. It was the perfect job for me, it was not only a way to earn some money, I also got the chance to learn something and get some more experience. It was very easy for me to find work during the summer months, and I usually received invitations and offers from a couple of places. It is not easy for the nursing homes to find staff during the summer, and many places hire people without any experience. [Porcospino]

Yes I am a college student and during the weekends, I work at a petrol bunk here to earn my pocket money so that i could afford them for my daily expenses. I sometimes work in the super markets. You may not be getting a very good salary but you are sure to get a decent salary. [vinslounge]

when in the middle school, i usually help the family with the housework in and out. when in the university, i usually go out to have a part-time job to earn money to support my college fees. but now, the summer is still here,while i have no time to do part-time job outside. but maybe,i can do something online. first,to set up a blog,and then...hehe... During my last summer vacation i worked as a telemarketer at a communication company called celcom and it was a great experience to be working there.When i started i was kinda been bullied by those workers there and gradually they stopped doing so when i got promoted due to my hardwork and always being serious when working.For a student like me it was something good since i get a raise in pay about 15%.The manager asked me to go back there to work every summer vacation and i think i am going back there again this summer break as it very nice and i have foundations in doing that job [maikarumike]
I used to mow peoples lawns. I despised doing this as a kid for many reasons. One of the more prominent was the weird angles and obstacles I had to navigate. Going around trees was okay, but trying to stealth my way past and angry dog while the mower was making all that noise was neigh impossible. I have no problem with mowing lawns now. I mean, I have no problem with mowing my own lawn. I actually enjoy doing it. This might be due to the fact that I have the luxury of listening to music on my MP3 player, while back then I didn't even think about bringing my Walkman with me. [cbjones]
