I am working on a paper and I need help. I need to know 3 things:

I go on vacation so I can get the see different counties in the word. Like last year I went to South Africa. I took my toddler son to Cape Town and the Garden Route. This year I will be taking him and my baby daughter to Canada. I am female. The first thing I think of when going on vacation is getting some travel guide books to read. I like to know how much accommodation is going to cost me. Then I book my flight. My best vacation was in Central America. I went to Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. I loved seeing the Mayan ruins and going on an exciting cave adventure. I enjoyed doing lots of snorkeling to see sting rays and nurse sharks. [maximax8]

okay, here are my answers :) ... #1 - I go on vacation because I love travelling, going to different places,and experiencing something different, something new... Basically one of my expectations in a vacation is that I'll be able to relax, and I may get tired, but it's the healthy kind of stress that I should be experiencing. #2 - I'm a girl. #3 - The first thing I think of, most of time - the food. Hi Bearballew! I´m a 65 year old GIRL who loves vacations and traveling. Depending on money and health, I travel to different places. My last vacation was to the south of Chile, my country. They have hotsprings there and I needed that because I just underwent shoulder surgery. The vacations before this one were pure adventure as I was part of the crew of a sailboat that went to Kunayala (San Blas Islands) at the Caribbean. As you see, it depends on many things. I have gone to many places in my life so I don´t have a single "best" vacation. Each place has something diferent and awesome. Thinking of it, I might onsider as my most memorable vacation the first time I went to Aruba. My husband was alive but already sick. In that week in Aruba he shed the years he put on when he got sick. I felt that Aruba was a paradise. I still go there once in a while to return to Eden. [marguicha]

Most of my trips (Can't really call them vacations) were to see my relatives. After I bought a Timeshare I actually started going places where a relative didn't live. Sometimes we saw relatives in the process but we weren't really going just to see them. I am male but everyone else is a female including the dog at that time. When I planned to go somewhere in my Timeshare list I would have to plan a year in advance of where I wanted to go. Then I would bank my week to trade for that place. Very rarely did I get to go to the first place I listed. I did get to go to Mazatlan, Mexico when we first bought the Timeshare over 30ty years ago. I would say that was my favorite as we also took in Carlsbad Caverns, Grand Canyon and the Petrified Forest. Another was to Palm Springs although it was awfully hot. I dropped my ice cream off my cone down the front of my shirt. We did go to a zoo in San Diego and crossed the border into Tijuana. Then we went up to Disneyland which I didn't go to but my family did. I went to see the Queen Mary ship with my mother. We took in the Redwood forest then headed over to Nevada where I went in and saw all the old cars in a museum there. That was probably my highlight even though my family didn't go through. They didn't care enough about old cars like I do to pay the money to go see. We have gone to 8 other places at least using our Timeshare. It was a good buy but I don't recommend it unless you need the outside pressure to go somewhere else except back home like I did. IT is very hard to get rid of a timeshare but you have to keep paying the maintenance fees even if you don't use your week and if you don't pay they will take you to court and if you die it will go to your relatives and they will have to keep paying. Great advice! We got trapped into a time share once... then went home, prayed about it and felt we should get out. We did within the alotted time. I just recently learned about the death penalty for Time Share owners!! That seems very unfair! [Bearballew]

The first thing I think of when going on a vacation is eating food from other countries and enjoying not having to cook. Mymost memorable vacation was going to British Columbia in Canada and enjoying the moose and other wild life and seeing a large glacier and getting sunburned there. [Hatley]
I go on vacation to see and experience new things or to visit people whom I know. I am a male. The first thing I think of when going on a vacation, is how am I going to to get there, drive, train, bus, plane, boat, etc, etc. My most memorable vacation, When I was a younger man, and not held down with responsiblities, I took the train from Shelby, Montana, after a long drive with my Mom, from Pincher Creek, Alberta, all the way to Orlando, Florida, where I got on a bus to Tampa, and then took a taxi to Fort de Soto(I think) county park, just on the other side of St.Petersburg, and I camped there for a week, and then went home, basically the same way I got there. We don't go on a lot of vacations due to finance.. and it's difficult to travel with 5 little kids. The last vacation we went on was just over a year ago, we went to Ottawa and stayed with a friend of ours. The only reason we were able to take this vacation is because it really only cost us gas money there and back. It's a 4 hour drive, but we had a free stay since we were with my friend.. and she fed us most meals from her home so we didn't have to eat out too often, unless we wanted to.. but we still got to see the sights of Ottawa, which I thought was wonderful for my children, they learned a little bit about the capital of Canada! (We live in NY). I'd love to travel, there are so many places I want to see.. it would take me all day to list them all. We hope to someday be able to get to New York City, and Florida.. and I want to see California.. the problem is affording it. We'd have to get hotel rooms and eat out all 3 meals of the day.. when figuring in the kids that adds up to a lot of money! My most memorable vacation was when I was a kid, my family used to camp up in the adirondacks for a week every summer. We knew some people that had some cabins up there, 2 of them were permanent residence, one was a vacation home. We'd stay in one of the permenant residences while that family was away on vacation. It had all the comforts of home, but it was in the middle of the woods, a short hike away from a lake, and we'd go sight seeing while there too... we were at the top of a mountain once.. though we drove up, we didn't climb, lol. If its a place I have been before I think about packing my stuff and have been known to pack it a week before just out of excitement, and then unpack it again because I have forgotten something and re-pack it and drive every one insane. I think about the airport and the flights, the excitement of when I land at other end. I also think of what medications to take as well. say I get a head ache, sun block lotions. Well it all depends on the reason WHY I go on vacation... - to get away, and relax to have some sort of peace of mind to keep my mind at ease. - to go and visit people who I never seen in a while or ever like a relative or a friend... Hmmm... Most of my vacations has been pretty dull and not that interesting, except when I got to travel when I was probably 10 or something. I went to Vancouver with my cousins, and gazed at the beautiful rockies. Went on hikes, nature trails, attended one of my cousins weddings, and had some fun with my other cousins doing what kids do to make the best of their time and stay rather than getting bored. We all stayed at my aunt and uncle's big house, so there was plenty of room, not to mention food, and the loving environment. XD It was fun times. But if I were to speak about my fall vacation to remember which was this last year... I spent it alone, for a few months... I needed time to think about things before I moved up in the world. My brother was my moral support, but I volunteered to do tasks for him on his laptop and such and conducted random scientific experiments that helped him got a silver medal along the months after all that. But rewinding to that part of time, all my friends were kind of gone since they were all in university and some studied abroad. Me on the other hand, things just didn't really go as according to plan - so technically I was on vacation for a really long time... But anyways, I had chosen to kind of isolate myself from the former friends I had, but has chosen one to stick with since I sort of had feelings for them, I found out they broke up with their girlfriend, so I thought I would finally have a chance with them after how long that I've waited since I did not take rejection too lightly before. So them and I talked for a while like old times - almost... Anyways, I had random attention from guys - attracted the wrong kinds. Then I joined some kind of group where people just talked, hang out and be fun and random. I decided to go there since I found out that the friend I use to like found someone else, I was unsure if it was official or not so I played it cool. But the group I joined was fun, I was kind of the 'powerhouse' in the group trying to make things interesting for everyone. It was great, but there was kind of one person who stuck out to me the most who happen to speak to me a lot and shared strange common interests with myself. I thought it was pretty rad that he 'speaks my language' of being weird. I was planning to leave the group after a few weeks of fun, so he was the person I've spoke to just to tell them to look after the group for me because I feel the need to leave since I had some things to sort out with my life since I was still on the case of my friend and their new gf. So this new friend of mine left me their e-mail so I can keep in touch with him, but some other person still needed my help since she was misguided and lost and broken up inside, so I stuck around to help her out to bring her into the light. Now, people who give the best advice can't really take their own advice of their own only some people... The new friend of mine surely kind of cyber stalked me on my blog and they said they were a bit of a creeper and that they were my friend and all that stuff since they were concerned with what was goin on with myself since I kind of 'lost it over something that would never ever ever ever happen.' I barely knew this new friend of mine but something was telling me to 'open up' to them. Besides they were studying psychology so they'd probably know a thing or two to help me out with myself. And I just told him everything just like that, and got him into my inner circle of close contacts... Which I thought was kind of stupid knowing the fact that he was someone I knew for 3 - 4 weeks? Okay there was more to that... I kind of flirted with him on a picture I seen of him saying he looked adorable and looked like a little sweetheart. I was just I just said that since I just wanted to because he was pretty cute yes, but I was just messing around and wasn't serious about it since I was losing my mind over someone else... Few days after my new friend and I had a deep convo where I rolled the welcome mat to my inner circle of friends, he started coming onto me. I knew I had that coming since you don't really kind of stalk people and try to get to know them unless you really like them a lot... Ahahaha since I just so happen to have done that to someone else before - karma. XD Anyways, they said that they'll give me time for me to come around, I couldn't help but to kind of pity him for what he's doing since he just didn't seem like my type well, more so.. The person I wanted. But after getting to know him a bit more I was like, wow... I CANT BELIEVE IT~!!! XD Really?! You're joking right? You like this, this, that, and this? And they said yeah, and I've wrote or never had spoken that I was into or had seen the stuff they use to watch and shared the other things we've got in common. Now this guy really had a major thing for me, which was great but I was still all "gee, I don't know..." So he wrote me a poem something about me not going to be able to ever love him but he was stubborn enough to hang on. We've talked till the morning, I read the poem I was only just awww... but when he left, I had reread it carefully. Sure it may be a method of reverse psychology, but I took his words to heart. Then crawled into my bed and cried - but in joy.. Thinking, where has he been all my life?! The following day when I kinda hung out with him and told him... He was actually really happy to hear what I had to say. So I did give him a chance, and gave him a long long long long questionnaire to fill out so I can see if he really does meet my standard based on my hidden evaluation sheet. He's a super nice, decent looking guy. Later, I came clean with the evaluation sheet thing, and had told him how much he's worth in the score ... a 96% which was above my super high standard of 94% and it was out of 88 on the list. I know not everyone is perfect, sure... But he thought it was really cute and understandable. It's been nearly half a year since I've been on my own vacation, and it's the one that I'll never ever forget since I found my soulmate. I'll be taking classes soon in the fall, and maybe working my butt off in a job again. Have I figured out what I wanted to do with my life over that 'taking a year off' thing? Yes, I'm planning to be a fitness instructor as a backup career to something that I want to do to that I know of will be achievable if I put my mind to it. With the support of others encouraging me to go forward and make the best of my life and enjoy it. This has been the longest 'vacation' I've ever been on... I did get to speak with some of my old friends, and they really really really missed me. When I go back to continue my studies, I know for sure that this will be the vacation I shall never forget. I haven't been on vacation in over 20 years now but have been thinking about going soon. I like the idea of getting away from the routine of daily life, doing something different. My preference is to go somewhere with a lot of clean, white, sandy beaches and water, preferrably ocean water. I live not too far from the Atlantic although the beaches here aren't that clean. I'd prefer the Caribbean or something like Jamaica or the Bahamas. Even parts of Florida would work. I'm a female and I like to get away where I don't have dishes to wash or a house to clean, somewhere where I'm not thinking about all the stuff that needs to get fixed or replaced, somewhere I can go to simply relax and forget about my real life for awhile. Hmmm, the first thing I think of when I think about going on vacation? I guess that would be the ultimate destination. After that, it would be what to pack and how much money I have to spend. Okay, now, my most memorable vacation would have to be the cruise I won in the Virgin Islands. It was a 43 foot sailboat and we spent a week sailing from one island to another. The airfare was all covered in the prize. The only thing I had to spend money on was whatever I wanted to bring back with me or if I wanted to eat someplace special on one of the islands. The reason we like to take vacations is to get away from the stresses of daily life, to have a change of environment and to see family because we usually travel to the other side of the country to visit my husband's family. The first thing I think of when I go on vacation is my pets because as much as I look forward to and really enjoy a holiday away from home I miss my pets terribly but it doesn't stop us though! Many of us do not get a vacation, you should include that in your study. I am female, 56 years old and have never had a real vacation since I was a child. There is no way to afford a vacation. I would like to vacation in a place with a warm but not hot beach with a casino and fun night life but it will never be. I am female, and I think of driving when I think of a vacation. For us many times the vacation is not just a destination but the journey as well. I think of family and how it can or will be involved when we vacation. I also think of mini vacations that are just hubby and me and can take as little as two or three days. We either explore a new place, or visit a favorite place. My most memorable vacation was when we were in pre launch with our adult children. They got to pick what we would do. They wanted to see where their dad and I had lived when we first were married and he was in the Navy. He died when they were teens. My current husband and I took them to San Diego, so they got to see the Pacific Ocean, we went to the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and my son visited the brand new Lego Land. We stayed in a KOA camping cabin in Chula Vista California. You would not have believed you were so near a metropolitan area. We also took them to Tijuana. i am a male, married and we have a four year old son. we wanted to go on a vacation first to change ambiance, second to relax, third to have nothing to do all day but just have fun and be together. no cellphones, no noisy vehicles. just pure serenity and enjoyment. the first thing that comes into my mind when i am going on vacation is a time to be together and an enjoyment time that is more than just going out at the mall. a quiet and relaxing vacation. a place where i will enjoy, my wife will enjoy and our son will enjoy as well. I go on vacation to see new places and do things that I wouldn't ordinarily do at home. I enjoy seeing more of the u.s. My most memorable vacation was to Canada via montana. i'd never seen either, and what beautiful scenery!!!! [supergrandma49]
We go on vacation to get away from our house and to visit family. We're a family of 2 males and 2 females. The first thing we think of when we think of going on vacation is who are we going to see first and what are we going to do first. We live 2 hours south of a big city, so we don't get a lot of city action. We drive 8 hours to another big city and where most of our family live. We try to go on vacation every year for a week so we can have the time to visit our friends and family. We try to go to our fave resteraunts and stores that we don't have opportunity to go to. So far our most memorable vacation, was last month. We went to Branson, MO for the first time for my son's and my birthday and met up with family we hadn't seen in almost 10 yrs. Two days wasn't long enough, but we made the most of it. I'll always have the memories of my son and I sharing this experience together forever. [angelwithkids]
Hi, I don't know if I can help cause I have different reason why I go on vacation. I only take vacation if I have to, like family gatherings/occasion, death or requested by friends/family and if my family wants me to accompany them. Hiya Bear, Sadly I have not been to fantastic places all exotic ones but I have been to places in England and over here which would not be mentioned elsewhere and I have enjoyed them as much as I could. I am a girl first of all and the second thing I think of is just to have as much fun as I can and enjoy whatever I can. There are a few place in England I have been to on Holiday well really they were Day trips and I loved them. Scarborough was one of my favourites and very small villages in Wales Chester was one of my places to go to and spend my Day off as we worked nearby in a Hotel right by the River Dee although we never managed to catch any Salmon. Stratford on Avon and most places in Devon like Torquay, Paignton, Lynmouth and Lynton, Morecombe and Ilfracombe. I really like those kind of places for me they are equally as good as any places in Spain the magic they have is different. Spain is really beautiful but I fell in love with Benidorm for the really striking Sunsets it has there is nowhere else like it and the actual People who live there and work there. When I think of Benidorm I am seeing not as a Holiday Resort but a different kind of place for me. I suppose it´s because I worked there and had contact with local People so it was never a Holiday thing for me. Calella de Mar is another although popular as Holiday place I don´t see it as being that for me. Bit hard to explain really but they have beautiful scenery. Really more than anything it´s the scenery and the feel of the place but again I have experienced the same thing in England in those places I mentioned. More than anything I love Great Britain you can never describe it altogether in one word. In Spàin they would say Ole to everything, but I would not change one trip or Holiday I have spent in England for anything. I also loved to go to Albrighton near Wolverhampton and Bridgnorth near Wolverhampton but they were not Day trips but I did enjoy going there and being there always. happy [lovinangelsinstead21]
