Would You Rather Go Away Or Stay Home On Vacation.

I have been on vacation for a week....I went to Watertown So.Dak to see the Terry Redlin Gallery with my sister and it took two days...came home had a day here then had a craft sale down in Iowa. This morning I am leaving for Wisconsin for three days then meeting my sister at my camper up north for a few days too....then head home and go back to work. I have really enjoyed my days at home. I want to spend time with my friend and my sister but in all honesty all the running around is getting old.....so would you prefer to go someplace on vacation? Or would you rather just stay home? See you all in a week!

if i had a weeks holiday from work i would rather spend it away from home. i consider it a waste to spend a whole week just being at home or doing every day things. i'd rather save my holidays for when i can go away somewhere. [robert67]

At the moment I'm on an extended vacation which I would love to see come to an end! Whenever hubby takes a vacation, it's a bit of both for him. He likes to be able to go places, but he also likes to have time to relax at home and just play video games and stuff. He doesn't get much of a chance to just relax! Last vacation he took, we spent 4 days in Ottawa visiting a friend, then came home and he spent a few days relaxing. He'll take another vacation in September, this time we won't be going anywhere, but the fair will be in town, so we'll do things like that. Last year we spent one of his vacations with a friend down visiting us. [katsmeow1213]

I will be really honest I am a boring Person who preders to stay at Home and always really have done I feel better and safer at Home, I don't know why I just do [gabs8513]

I would want to get away! I've been stuck here for too long. I want to go somewhere, even if that somewhere is only an hour away. It would still be a vacation to me! [AmbiePam]

I always love to travel but I do enjoy a few days at home to sort things out ijn my own sweet time and stay late in bed etc. Just doing hwat I want to do is heaven. I can re arrange my art work (not moine - someone else painted it!) and just fritter the time away. I'm usually on the go seven days a week so it is a nive change to actually enjoy my home [cynthiann]

I'd rather make day trips that staying overnight trips. The last real vacation away from home I took was to NY and I hated it.. it was very disappointing. The trip before that I went to South GA to Savannah and St. Simon's Island... that was kind of fun.. but still was glad to get home. I'm pretty much a homebody. [OreoCookie3]

I don't mind one day trips but packing and unpacking gets to be old. Now my wife loves to travel and can pack pretty light if she wants. She does 99% of the driving. I think she prefers driving than having to wait for transportation in stations or airports. [lotterylover]

I wanna get the heck outta Dodge! Hubby and I usually either hit a tropical place, like a beach, or we'll go to Disney World (we are in the process of collecting interesting Disney hats for a hat rack in our media room). I spend every weekend at home, as well as every evening, so it is nice to go somewhere. Even better if we can take the dogs! [cobra1368]

I would definitely go somewhere else. I think the reason why it is called vacation is because you have to vacate your present position, to recharge. It is a great feeling to be somewhere else and see the nice places that would help you release stress and it is good for our mental health. It could help us get new ideas and have a better perspective in life. [jules67]

I went to munar the last vaccation and to ooty this vaccation. I too love to spend vaccation at home. [jaisundar]
It depends. If i don't have too much time to stay with my family when working, i prefer to stay at home for my vaction. otherwise, i will arrange a self drive vacation to relax myself, somewhere with beach is my favorite. [kanecn]

For this year, I rather jsut stay home [animestan]

Oh I wish I could go on vacation and it would not be to stay here at home :) I havent been on one for 3 years now and I totally need one. I would love to take a few days alone with my boyfriend and take some time for ourselves. You know when you have a big family and they all still live with you time with your partner is essential. We have so many little ones here that there is virtually no privacy at all. I am hoping we can take a few days in the next months to at least travel a bit to Las Vegas and spend a few nights. A little bit of gambling and a lot of romance is what we need ;) [virtualmirage]

I would much rather go some where on vacation. Sure i live in the beautiful state of colorado and many people visit here every summer, fall, and winter but it just is not as exciting if you live here. I love to visit the East coast, like Washington D.C. and Maine. So overall i would much rather go out of state. [Soupy64]

I'm not sure if I'd like to do all that running around that you did. Sounds like work all over again. When I go on vacation it's usually to one place, like camping, and just kind of running around there, but I wouldn't like to come home, and go back out again, come home and go back out again. Do you know what I mean or am I not making any sense today?, haha. I guess I'd rather do all the running around in one big place, maybe that's what I'm trying to say..oh good grief. I need a job. [Kashmeresmycat]
It was tiring.....I go back to work tomorrow and am almost looking forward to being back into a routine.....but in two weeks I fly out to New York to see my oldest daughter and her family....but I am almost vacationed out! LOL [jillhill]

If I had the money , I would go away. There are three trips I would love to take. First one is a train ride to chicago and spend the weekend. Another is a week in Tuscany. And last but not least a month trip to Britain. it would take a month because the more I hear and see on t.v. , the more is added to this trip. [sarahruthbeth22]
I would also like to ride a train....that has always been one of the things on my to do list.....I have been to Europe but not Britain. [jillhill]

I had rather be home that anywhere. I HAVEN'T EVER BEEN ON TOO MANY VACATIONS. My kids have always teased me about being a homebody. Have a safe trip & a real good time. [ANTIQUELADY]
I di have a good time but am glad to be back home! [jillhill]

Hey jill! I hope that you enjoy your vacation! If I am going on vacation I would prefer that it is really a VACATION! I don't like to be running around from place to place! I would like to go somewhere and stay there! I don't really like to be away from home at all! I much prefer to just be at home! I never was able to be comfortable anywhere else but in the comfort of my own home! Even when I go to visit my mother I am not totally comfortable and I have my own room there or the guest room! I hate to travel and don't like to sleep anywhere else but my own bed! I have enough trouble sleeping in my own bed as it is so anywhere else is really miserable for me! I do hope that you have a good time whereever you are going and will see you when you get back! Hugs, Opal [Opal26]

i prefer to spend my vacation at home, first i am a person like quiet live.and my pet aversion to go out, everywhere is so crowded so noised, if you stay at home ,you can do anything what you want to do .watching TV,surf web.sleeping, read book.etc... does anybody have the same habbit as me? [voicewithin]

I would stay home if I had a vacation for a week. Now I'm quite busy on working, and my working place is a little far from my parents'house. So I really want to stay home with my parents when the vacation comes, what's more i miss my dog. [yue_helianthus]

I depends on how long my vacation would be. If it is just for one or two days, then I'd rather stay at home. When I am at home, I love having a movie marathon or a tv show marathon. When my vacations are for more than two days, I definitely would love to go to other countries to travel. It would be a refreshing change of scenery and would enable me to learn new things while enjoying myself immensely at the same time. [zzyw87]

Since my work requires me to be away from my family, im working in the city, 3 horus bus ride, so whenever i get some time off, i always go home and spend time with my family and friends. Although there are times that we go out of town with my family but that usually depends on my schedule and my brothers. [daryljane]

Currently,I am having my school holidays for a month,if I have the ability to go on a vacation,I would definately go,but now,I could not afford the cost, and so,I am going to spend my whole June holidays at home.. [ahslack]

I prefer to stay at home and just sleep. LOL. But if I can do that on my vacation, then why not? hehe. I hate vacations wherein you are always on the move, visit this place and that place, eat in this restaurant and what-nots. It's just too tiring, a perfect vacation for me would be to stay all day in my hotel, or in a beach, with nothing to do but sleep, read and eat. =) [Ingkingderders]

I like to go for trip. But frankly now the budget is tight plus I do not have that mood. I am bogged by so many things in life , career. so no vacations. [subha12]

I'd rather stay home facing my computer. [wendelltrack]

i really love to go for a vacation.......i past i used to go to different places with my family......but after joining hospitality it has become very difficult for me to go for a vacation...but i manage to get some time with my family.....or friend and go for a small holiday for a day or two......this time i have a long vacation so i and my family are going to meet my relatives and we have planned trip for around 20 days........ [deepzholic]

Well, it depends on the time and of course if I have an extra money. Just this summer I spend my vacation with my husband and son. We went to different places although its not out of the country but its in different places in our country. Our country has around 7100 islands so there are plenty of places to go. We went to different places enjoyed the beaches, waterfalls, and went horseback riding and many more. I really love to go on vacation. But well, we do not do it often. It depends on the extra money that we have. See you around! [ladyjinggay]

The older I get the more I prefer to stay home. We have an older dog that needs to taken care of and it's just easier to be here. Am going to see our daughter next month in New Mexico but my husband is going to stay here. He pretty much uses his vacation to travel with his softball team. We both still work and I also babysit our youngest grandbaby a couple of times a week or more. I love my house and like being in this part of the country. [carolbee]
We have one daughter living out of state but the other 2 are here. Haven't seen them since Thanksgiving so am anxious to get there and visit for a few days. Otherwise I am content staying home. [carolbee]

There was a time, when I did some travelling within the Eastern Coast of the United States, and what I realized is when you've visit one resort you've visited them all. After a while it just became a bore. I do enjoy see areas which I've never seen before, but I can do that in the nearby neighborhoods. When I walk down a street or avenue that I've never walked before it is so rewarding. I get to see the details of homes and the gardens planted. Going on vacations is like going to the Mall. Unless, one is a international business person, making connections along the way, I don't see why travel abroad. Well, I live in the north east, of the United States, and the cities I've lived in seem to attack people from all around the world. In other words, I sat and exchanged cultural difference with people from all around the world. As a point in fact, don't ever think that people who come to the United States are the best quality people of their native lands. On the contrary, I find many of the many to be the snakes and predators that use those prospective technics to make their ways here. Then once they arrive, they are unable to shake those tendencies, even though they no longer find themselves backstabbing their way to this blessed land. What happens is that, they develop hidden envy and end up questioning why the United States (foolishly; they think) allow non-citizens to hold county governmment jobs, and enjoy all the emminities and freedoms that American citizens are granted by their form of government. The continue their predatory ways and brown nose their employers in order to become best buddies with them so that they can rise above other employees. This I have concluded from my many experiences with other human beings that come mainly from poor countries like Arabia, India, and the one or two Carribean islands. At the same time, I've enjoy inter-action with others from the same countries, but what I am talking about is a noticiable number that immigrate here, and I've studied many. So, I suppose travelling to those countries, will not yield any surprises. I also realized that these predatory instints lies among portion of every culture, including within the generations that have lived in the United States for ever; just look at ex-vice president Chaney. However, I alway say that you never see that from the Fords, the Duponts, the Kennedys, and the Rockefellas. These families with their wealth for generations seem more generous than predatory. Another tendency that I've notice, is that the very people I talk about, seem to question the genorosity of Americans in general. I far as travelling to other countries, I rather, stay home, in back yard seeing the birds and smoking a few cigarettes:) [gadnynj]

I would much rather go on vacation overseas than stay at home. It would be challenging to feel all that relaxed at home because there is always so much that needs to be done. In a week I would be able to fly to a destination within Europe or North Africa. I might go to Iceland, Cyprus or Egypt. It would be best to go to Iceland in Summer, to Cyprus in spring or autumn and to Egypt in winter for some much needed sunshine. [maximax8]

if i am on vacation, i'd rather go out and see new places. i love traveling but at present, i am limited by money. i want to travel as tourist and visit the many wonderful places in the world. i'm still young so i have high hopes. traveling is fun, especially if you are with great friends and even greater loved ones. [edelweiza]
Traveling is great fun! [jillhill]

hi jill! nice to hear you enjoyed your vacation. ^^ for me it depends. there are days that i'd rather be outside hanging out with friends and there are days that i just want to stay home. if i have money, i'd rather go some place during vacation. when i don't have money, i prefer to stay at home. ^^;; if its a long vacation, i won't let it end without going some where with friends. like if its a week vacation, i'll probably go somewhere. but if its a short vacation like 2 days, i'd prefer to stay at home and rest. but if someone would invite me somewhere and it would sound nice, then i'll probably go. ^^;; [secretbear]
Right! So glad you are back on board! [jillhill]
